The Role
Macquarie University Health is seeking an exceptional senior clinician to join our leadership team as Clinical Program Head, Cancer. This part-time, fixed-term role provides a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction, clinical excellence and future growth of the Cancer Program across Macquarie University Hospital and Clinics.
This is a highly influential leadership role for a respected clinician who is passionate about integrated, patient-centred cancer care and committed to advancing education, research and innovation within an academically aligned health environment.
As Clinical Program Head, Cancer, you will provide clinical leadership, strategic oversight and governance for cancer services across Macquarie University Health. You will work collaboratively with senior clinicians, hospital executives, researchers and academic leaders to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care while fostering a culture of safety, innovation and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing clinical leadership and management of the Cancer Program across Macquarie University Hospital Clinics
Driving the development and implementation of best-practice, innovative models of cancer care
Ensuring excellence in clinical governance, quality, safety and patient outcomes
Supporting and enabling education, teaching and training within the discipline
Participating in and facilitating clinical research and evidence-based practice
Building strong multidisciplinary partnerships across clinical, academic and operational teams
Contributing to the strategic growth and sustainability of cancer services within Macquarie University Health

To be considered for this position, please include your CV and a 1–2-page cover letter addressing the following:
MBBS, MD or equivalent qualification with current medical registration in a relevant specialty
Demonstrated senior clinical leadership experience within oncology or a related specialty
Record of sustained clinical achievement, innovation and service development
Strong experience working within, and leading, high-performing multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to education and/or research, with demonstrated experience in at least one of these areas
Proven high-level communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance, safety, quality and best-practice care
Current Accredited Practitioner status at Macquarie University Hospital (or eligibility to obtain)
Commitment to upholding and stewarding the Mission, Vision and Values of Macquarie University Health
