Pay Range: $41.16 - $53.51/hr. | $85,611 - $111,295 annual compensation

A Clinical Practice Manager job is available with the City of Fort Worth Office of the Medical Director. The Clinical Practice Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, directing, managing, and oversight of the Office of the Medical Director’s Clinical Practice Division; provides leadership and strategic direction in the development, operationalization, and administration of the Clinical Credentialing and Education Program; ensures compliance with credentialing policies, education and training standards, and state statutory requirements related to medical direction and oversight; aligns the Clinical Practice Division assigned personnel, processes, and procedures with the vision, mission, and purpose of the OMD; provides high-level administrative and leadership support to the Chief of Staff and Medical Director in a complex, high-performance EMS system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency medical services management, education, healthcare administration, or other related degree
  • Five (5) years’ experience as a paramedic in the EMS System with progressive responsibility, or more than five (5) years experience as a paramedic in a busy 911 system with progressive responsibility
  • Advanced credentialing requirement
  • IHI Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety must be obtained within one (1) year from date of hire
  • One year as a TX DSHS EMS certified instructor or equivalent
  • NAEMSE Level-1 certification
  • Basic Course Coordinator certification within 1-year of hire
  • Relevant instructor card certifications (CPR, ALS, PALS, Trauma, Medical, etc.), must obtain within 6 months of date of hire
  • Must pass Drug Screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in leadership, healthcare administration, public administration, education, or related field
  • TX DSHS Basic or Advanced Course Coordinator certification
  • NAEMSE Instructor Level-2 certification
  • Critical Care certification
  • Certification in project management.
  • Previous experience in management of an EMS education and training program or related field
  • Competent with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Appropriate time management to ensure that all areas of essential functions are adequately covered
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The Clinical Practice Manager job responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic planning and direction in the development of practices and processes related to the roles and responsibilities of the Clinical Practice Division.
  • Manage the development, operationalization, and evaluation of the Clinical Credentialing and Education Program within organizational goals and standards.
  • Provide administrative oversight and management of personnel assigned to the Clinical Practice Division, including hiring, prioritizing work, productivity, time and payroll, performance evaluations, compliance with established policies and procedures, and performance improvement action.
  • Provide comprehensive reports on system credentialing, education, and training to EAB, and MCAB, ensuring that data is accurately presented, insights are clearly communicated, and recommendations for improvement are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of credentialing process data to provide the Medical Director with actionable insights, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and recommendations to enhance overall process efficiencies and support strategic decision-making.
  • Exercise independent decision-making and problem-solving skills, collaborating with others to address complex issues and implement effective solutions in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Contribute to the creation and management of the department's annual budget by forecasting required funds for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; overseeing and approving expenditures; and making necessary adjustments to ensure financial efficiency and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Assist in the administrative duties within the office to include but not limited to, percurrent processes, and monthly purchasing audits.
  • Serves as a primary liaison between the Office of the Medical Director and external stakeholders, developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with City leaders, Police Chiefs, Fire Chiefs, and other partner agencies to ensure alignment, collaborations, and system-level support.
  • Oversees the configuration, administration, and maintenance of the system’s Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate course deployment, user access management, reporting, and compliance with organizational training requirements.
  • Manage clinical affiliation agreements for EMS education programs.
  • Oversee the Comprehensive Clinical Management Program.
  • Assist with on-call coverage for On-line Protocol Guidance.
  • Demonstrate leadership values within the Clinical Practice Division, OMD, and Fort Worth Regional EMS System.
  • Function as a mentor in the growth of OMD personnel through a Lead-Develop-Care model.
