The post holder will be a valuable member of our Lung Centre bank team. The role is within a rapidly growing respiratory department based in the Clinical Investigation Centre (CIC) at the Cromwell Hospital. The new team member is expected to champion clinical skills in the department and support daily running of the Lung Centre.
The role will require clinical and operational skills which will contribute to the world class service offered by the team. The successful candidate will have experience working independently and within a team working across adult and paediatric patient cohorts and will proactively contribute towards collaborative and excellent patient care.
How you’ll help us make health happen
The post holder will join a growing team of Respiratory and Sleep Physiologists within the Lung and Sleep Centre at Cromwell Hospital. They will contribute to the daily running of a modern lung function service, delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care to both adult and paediatric patients.
ESSENTIAL:
Spirometry
Lung Function Tests
Reversibility Studies
Skin Prick Allergy Testing
6-Minute Walk Tests (6MWT)
Respiratory Muscle Strength Assessment
Bronchial Provocation Studies (Mannitol and Methacholine)
DESIRABLE:
Exercise Induced Bronchial Provocation
Hyperventilation and Dysfunctional breathing (HPVT)
Fitness-to-Fly assessments (HCT)
Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing
Capillary Blood Gases (ear sampling)
Sleep Services (DESIRABLE):
Respiratory Polygraphy connection and analysis
CPAP clinic – set up, trouble shooting and monitoring
Understanding of and exposure to Polysomnography (PSG)
Key Skills / Qualifications
BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology or equivalent specialist training.
Minimum 1-year post-qualification experience in a Clinical Respiratory Physiology Department.
Registration with AHCS or equivalent; membership of ARTP or ERS desirable.
Proficient in Office 365 and clinical systems; experience with private healthcare delivery is a plus.
Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
Passionate about respiratory medicine and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
