POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to, and under general guidance from, the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the medication use system in a designated clinical area. This encompasses daily monitoring, assessment and recommendations for pharmacotherapy, interdisciplinary patient care and education to patients and team members. The specialist serves as the subject matter experts in their designated area, collaborating with pharmacy, medical, surgical, nursing and other healthcare professionals, ensuring appropriate pharmaceutical care. Participates in the training and education of healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, technicians, nurses and medical.

The ID pharmacist is expected to lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives related to antimicrobial use and patient safety, lead formulary management, guideline development, monitor antimicrobial use metrics and report outcomes to hospital leadership.
The ID clinical pharmacy specialist oversees antimicrobial stewardship activities, leads the local antimicrobial stewardship committee, monitors antimicrobial use metrics and reports outcomes to hospital leadership and should be an active participant on the system antimicrobial stewardship committee. Additionally, the ID clinical pharmacy specialist serves as the residency program director for the PGY2-ID program.

Compensation Range:
$109,000.00- $158,000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
