Your Role at Baxter

The Clinical Outcomes Specialist (COS) role supports both our hospital customers as well as our sales team. This role provides both clinical and product education with a focus on helping our customers improve patient care, outcomes, and clinical workflow. This position requires flexibility, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and to collaborate with team members to ensure customer happiness. This role requires weekly travel to hospitals located in the territory three to four days a week including some overnight travel 20% - 30% per quarter depending on projects and the COS’s home base. Some evening/ early morning training or in-services and participation in weekend conferences could also be required in the territory.

  • This region is Atlantic Canada which includes Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island provinces.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide product education through planned evaluations and implementations including both onsite at the hospital as well as virtually, using computer technology and/or telephone.

  • Collaborate with clinical customers on how to best integrate the use of our products into clinical protocols to reduce adverse patient events like patient deterioration, falls, and pressure injuries.

  • This portion of the role is split between our PSS and FLC product portfolios.

  • Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of annual Baxter clinical studies focused on patient falls, pressure injuries, and deterioration with customers. This includes collecting and analyzing the data captured, preparing, developing and leading a Power Point presentation that summarizes the findings and results to key clinical leaders including Professional Practice, Quality Teams, Educators, Directors of clinical programs and VP’s responsible for patient care.

  • Work closely with the Regional Manager, Account Managers, Specialists and other team members to develop and execute on account plans and sales strategies.

  • Record activities and contracts within sales software application and assure that all information remains current and provides enough detail to be useful.

  • Travel as the need arises (up to 75% of the time).

What you'll bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of related clinical experience is required.

  • Registered nursing designation, degree, diploma or equivalent required.

  • Allied Health Designation: degree, diploma or equivalent required (Nursing or Allied Health).

  • Allied Health includes Physio Therapist, Occupational Therapy, or Respiratory Therapist.

  • At least two years of nursing experience at an acute care hospital (ICU, Medical/Surgical Floors).

  • Experience working in professional practice, clinical informatics or as a clinical educator is preferred.

  • Bilingual (English / French) is a nice to have for this region both oral and written but not required.

  • Strong collaboration, verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer literate (basic working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Previous medical device experience preferred.
