Clinical Operations Manager, Operations and Accidents Benefits

This new and impactful leadership opportunity invites a visionary clinical leader to shape the future of national clinical operations within our Operations and Accident Benefits Administrative Department. As the Manager, Clinical Operations, you will build and elevate a new function that influences clinical excellence across the organization. Reporting directly to the Director, you will lead national multidisciplinary clinical teams, business relationship roles, and strategic vendor partners, ensuring clinical integrity, operational consistency, and best‑in‑class claimant outcomes.

You bring strong analytical and operational expertise, the ability to interpret medical evidence, and a talent for optimizing clinical processes. You excel at building relationships with internal partners, vendors, and regulators, and you can translate complex clinical information into strategic guidance for executive decision‑makers. If you are energized by building something new, driving innovation, and making a national impact—this role is for you. More specifically, you will be required to: 

  • Lead the national clinical strategy for accident benefits, casualty, bodily injury, and disability claims, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Including positioning the organization for Alberta Accident Benefits reform and applying transferable insights from worker’s compensation systems and provincial auto insurance systems (i.e. WSIB/WCB, ICBC and MPI).

  • Ensure all clinical programs meet legislative, regulatory, college, and privacy requirements across all jurisdictions. 

  • Provide strategic clinical guidance to senior leaders and translate complex clinical insights into clear, actionable recommendations. 

  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary clinical teams nationally, setting standards for clinical quality, service excellence, and operational performance. 

  • Oversee national clinical governance, including audits, quality indicators, continuous improvement, and identification of systemic risks or opportunities. 

  • Direct national vendor management strategies, including onboarding, governance, performance evaluation, and collaboration with procurement. 

  • Drive major enterprise initiatives by contributing clinical expertise to project work, assessing training needs, and supporting change management and modernization efforts. 

  • Conduct data‑driven analysis of claims and financial trends, complete gap analyses, and recommend solutions to optimize clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.

What you bring to the table 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience including four years of management experience in insurance, rehabilitation, assessments, or health operations

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered 

  • Experience leading leaders and drive performance across multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams and managing clinical programs or medical vendors

  • Experience in Accident Benefits, casualty (Bodily Injury), or disability claims (including WSIB or WCB)

  • Regulated clinical designation (RN, OT, PT, Psych, or equivalent)

  • Advanced proficiency in English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Expert knowledge with IME or medico‑legal assessment programs

  • Advanced knowledge of Alberta Accident Benefits reform, BC and Manitoba no fault systems

  • Advanced knowledge with SABS, FSRA guidelines, HCAI standards, and privacy legislation

  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian healthcare systems and provincial regulations

  • Advanced knowledge of Disability Claims, WSIB, WCB 

  • Available for travel between Ontario and Alberta (4-6 times/year)
