Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for a Medical/Surgical position at Euclid Hospital, supporting the adult inpatient population. This opportunity is open to Clinical Nurse Specialists as well as Nurse Practitioners with Acute Care, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care certification.
In this role, the provider will impact care at the patient, nurse, and organizational levels through collaboration, education, and direct patient care.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts. There are no nights, holidays, call, or weekend requirements.
The ideal candidate is an experienced adult Medical/Surgical Clinical Nurse Specialist; however, new graduates with relevant RN experience will also be considered.
CNSs provide expertise and support to nurses caring for patients at the bedside, help drive practice changes throughout the organization, and ensure the use of best practices and evidence-based care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.

Providing direct patient care as applicable.
Rounding with patients/nurses and interdisciplinary teams regularly

Disseminating knowledge from guidelines and research studies
Primary responsibility for writing/revising policies, procedures, and nursing protocols
Standardizing nursing practice across location
Conducting nursing research
Professional development - Support professional development of clinical nurses as demonstrated by:
Providing career coaching and guidance
Assist with poster/oral abstract development
License/ Certifications:
APRN: Currently licensed as a RN and APRN in applicable state.
National certification as APRN by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing, current licensure by applicable state Board of Nursing,
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Work Experience:
Two years clinical nursing experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to perform physical examinations.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
May require exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
