About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse (CN) to join our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside. This is a permanent full‑time opportunity within a fast‑paced, high‑acuity perioperative environment.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager Anaesthetics/PACU, the Clinical Nurse PACU provides advanced clinical nursing care and clinical leadership, supporting the delivery of safe, high‑quality post‑anaesthetic recovery care. The role contributes to patient safety, staff support, service coordination, and continuous quality improvement across PACU and Procedural Services.
You will work collaboratively with Anaesthetists, Surgeons, Theatre staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and service excellence.

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 3–5 years’ recent experience in PACU
Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment and recovery skills
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Sound knowledge of NSQHS Standards, infection prevention, and risk management
Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Postgraduate qualification in PACU, perioperative nursing, or working towards describable
Experience acting or relieving in senior/lead PACU or shift coordination roles desirable
