About The Role:

  • The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Educator position in Surgical Services is to promote, plan, implement, coordinate and review educational programs for all staff working with the Department, including Angiography, Mater Clinic theatres and Central Sterilising Unit.
  • Education programs include In-service Education, the Peri-operative Program for new staff and peri-operative nursing experience for New Graduates, Trainee Enrolled Nurses and Undergraduate Nursing Students.
  • The Clinical Nurse Educator also coordinates staff attendance at the mandatory education organisation wide programs and assists in policy and procedure review and development.
  • This role will be pivotal in teaching and continuing quality improvement projects.

About You:

  • Qualification – Bachelor of Nursing with AHPRA registration.
  • 5 or more years of Peri-operative Nursing experience or 4 or more years’ experience in the Day Surgery environment.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of ACORN standards.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of AS 5369 standards.
  • Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace health and Safety, Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care.
