An integral part of our team at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital Day Surgery Centre as a Clinical Nurse, you’ll be encouraged to grow, develop and feel empowered to make the everyday easier for the people we care so passionately about.

 St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital Day Surgery Centre is an extension of St Andrews War Memorial Hospital. The brand-new surgery centre offers a dedicated day surgery experience and a wide range of procedures for patients who do not require an overnight stay in hospital. 

The purpose-built surgical centre is located opposite the main hospital within St Andrew’s Place on North St, Spring Hill, and features two procedure rooms, an operating theatre, as well as admission and recovery spaces. The centre has been designed to meet the growing demand for surgical treatment at St Andrew’s, and changing patient and clinician preferences for same-day procedures. By bringing together the finest medical experts, care and technology, we’re able to deliver personalised care and world-class results.

 Your part in our St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital Day Surgery Centre team  

As part of our brand new Day Surgery Centre, you will provide exceptional patient care in the areas of your clinical expertise whilst assessing and responding appropriately to clinical nursing issues and concerns.

You will provide supervision and guidance within a multi-disciplinary team through effective decision making and support, you will lead by example through exceptional communication, customer service and patient advocacy. 

What makes a difference for us? 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Day Surgery / DOSA 

  • Background in Anaesthetics and/or PACU required

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent and AHPRA registration

  • Australian Working Rights (We are unable to provide sponsorships)

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, support and mentorship

  • An ability to coordinate and prioritise your wards clinical load

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvements

  • Availability to work across a fortnightly rotating roster between 6am – 6pm, Mon – Fri

  • Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
