Job Title: Clinical Manager – Telemetry, Medical Surgical, and Dialysis Services
FULL TIME 2ND SHIFT
Tele 4 is a 10-bed telemetry unit. This unit specializes in general medical surgical and telemetry patients such as but not limited to pneumonia, ESRD, Stroke, CHF and chest pain patients. Post-operative patients such as GU, Urology, Orthopedics, Bariatrics, Heart Cath/PCI. The population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care. The patient population is admitted / transferred from ICU, ED and PACU.
Tele 3 is a 22-bed telemetry unit. This unit specializes in general medical surgical and telemetry patients such as but not limited to pneumonia, ESRD, Stroke CHF and chest pain patients. Post-operative patients such as GU, Urology, Orthopedics, Bariatrics, Heart Cath/PCI. The population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care. The patient population is admitted / transferred from ICU, ED and PACU.
Job Description:
The Clinical Manager, in collaboration with the Nursing Director, will assure the provision of safe, quality, patient centered care, by addressing performance, regulatory, risk management, patient/family and physician issues/concerns as appropriate. Role models caring behaviors in relationships with others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages shift operations for department/unit, adjusting staff assignments as acuity, census, staffing and priorities change.
- Performs nurse leader rounding with a purpose, utilizing key questions to obtain feedback from patients and families. Resolves any issues at point of service.
- Collaborates with supply chain for procurement of supplies.
- Addresses patient, family, and physician issues regarding patient care during the assigned shift, ensuring positive customer relations.
- Assists Director by providing input into disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, including 90-day evaluations.
- Monitors staff compliance with facility policies and procedures and follows up as appropriate, including communication with Director.
- Mentors and coaches staff to enhance their professional development.
- Works in partnership with Staff Development and preceptors of new staff to facilitate a successful orientation.
- Assists in monitoring regulatory, risk and EOC compliance.
- Ensures that nurse sensitive indicators and protocols are used.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing Required
- Active Kentucky RN license
- BLS, ACLS and other designated unit specific certification training/requirements
- ANCC Medical Surgical National Certification on hire or within 2 years of hire Required
- Minimum of three years of Registered Nurse experience. Medical Surgical and Telemetry experience required.
