Position Summary / Career Interest:
Responsible for performing andrology laboratory testing for diagnostic purposes, preparation of specimens for intrauterine or in vitro insemination and specimen cryopreservation.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Perform basic andrology laboratory procedures, including semen analysis and specimen preparations for artificial - insemination.
- Perform cryopreservation procedures for the short and long-term storage of patient specimens.
- This includes conducting periodic and an annual inventory of the storage specimens and assisting when necessary in storage billing procedures.
- Communicate in a professional, effective and sensitive manner with patients regarding specimen collection procedures.
- This may include by phone and email as needed.
- Communicate in a professional and effective manner with referring physicians/nurses/clinics as needed.
- Interact with clinical staff including physicians, nurses, and administrators in a professional manner.
- Maintain complete and accurate records in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by the laboratory director along with the governing bodies that provide the licenses and standards for the clinical laboratory.
- Ability to carry out laboratory responsibilities and duties while on-call, which includes weekends and holidays and may include evenings.
- Assist with ongoing academic research when necessary.
- Monitor supply inventory and prepare orders as needed.
- Ability to carry out all laboratory responsibilities at the primary laboratory site and all satellite locations.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience- Bachelors Degree in Biology or related field from an accredited College or University.
- High School Graduate
Knowledge Requirements- Good communication skills and laboratory experience.
