Job Summary
Responsible for validating data collected through clinical documentation is sound, relevant, accurate, and reliable, while supporting the values and objectives of Memorial Hermann Health System. The Clinical Information Analyst assists clinicians with workflow and process analysis that align with our strategic plan, leveraging available resources, metrics, benchmarks; and system standards across the enterprise. Responsible for managing customer expectations and aligning their strategic initiatives with Solution Segments in ISD. Must be able to demonstrate working operational knowledge and technical skills necessary to analyze current processes and understand customer’s business strategies. Responsible for documenting process and workflow presenting them as educational materials. Demonstrates a commitment to the values of the corporation through active participation in the Partners in Caring, Customer Service, Six Sigma, and Continuous Quality Improvement programs. Typically reports to an IT Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or clinically related field or at least one (1) year of equivalent industry experience in healthcare.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Requires at least one (1) year of healthcare industry experience and/or implementation of large and complex information Systems in a Health Care environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of IT, Microsoft Office tools, knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Understanding of effective Customer Relationship Management Skills necessary for efficient problem resolution to maximize customer satisfaction.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Identifies opportunities for optimization of processes leading to reduced variation and increased efficiencies.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Aligns with overall system strategy of clinical redesign, process improvement, and education.
Plans and develops an educational strategy that provides customers the necessary skills to adequately perform job functions and meets the demands of the changing environment.
Develops tools that measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the position accountabilities.
Identifies clinical and other system application requirements through process and workflow analysis.
Provides support to projects assigned to the department.
Demonstrates technical knowledge of application systems and ability to translate process issues impacting patient care.
Participates in the integration of individuals into multiple work teams.
Identifies the technological advances available in the healthcare industry.
Supports all requests for projects, service requests and problem tickets through the established channels in the division.
Actively participates with implementation team(s) during installation of new computer functions or enhancements to existing functions which impact diagnostic and clinical areas.
Documents initial information leading to a forensic medical record investigations as part of safety events
Participates in facility certification attestations for nationally recognized organizations
Reinforce clinical practices and standards
Optimize workflow and promote change in the clinical information systems by working with clinical and quality leadership at the facility and system level.
Engages in facility Project / Change Management and Adoption
Ensuring all data collection and recording is in legal compliance with federal, state, and regulatory groups
Effectively organizes and facilitates executive meeting to review IT strategic initiatives, monitor, and measure outcomes
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
