The Position

The Clinical Distribution organisation’s objective is to cost-effectively ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time every time, such that no patient will go without treatment and no clinical trial will be delayed. The System & Process Chapter ensures organisational readiness for the Clinical Distribution team and our North Star: All patients worldwide, within one day, CO2 neutral.

The Opportunity

The BPm is a key member of the System & Process Chapter, which is jointly accountable for all elements of clinical supply chain distribution for the global Roche/Genentech portfolio of >500 clinical trials. The Systems and Process Chapter is responsible for having all systems ready and up and running at all times to ensure daily operations (more than 23 depots and affiliates + external partners and >50mCHF / yearly) and to enable the business execution through optimised systems and business process capabilities. The BPm role executes the strategy and leads the implementation and realisation of the harmonised end to end processes and related system capabilities for clinical distribution, incl. major ERP and system implementations. Job accountabilities include:

  • Lead the execution of harmonised end-to-end processes and system capabilities for global clinical supply chain distribution.

  • Own and optimize Clinical Distribution Processes related to the clinical system landscape, including platforms like CLARA, APO/OMP, IxRS, and 3PL/WMS integrations.

  • Drive the implementation of ERP systems (e.g., SAP S4 HANA) across the distribution network, ensuring scope alignment, deployment planning, and stakeholder communication.

  • Enable operational excellence for over 100,000 shipments annually, ensuring “right first time” delivery with optimised costs and lead times.

  • Challenge the status quo and champion breakthrough innovations by benchmarking against industry best practices and leveraging internal and external partnerships.

  • Build strong collaborations with the BPM community and stakeholders, including Clinical Operations, IT, affiliates, external logistics partners, and regulatory bodies, to achieve smooth supply chain integration.

  • Foster a learning and collaborative culture within and across teams by mentoring staff and ensuring alignment with global clinical supply chain strategies.

Who You Are

  • A seasoned professional with 5-7+ years of operational experience in clinical supply chain, distribution, or planning, including ERP IT system and deployment expertise, alongside leadership responsibilities.

  • Deeply knowledgeable in clinical supply chain management, with strong cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration experience.

  • Proficient in ERP systems & SAP Solution Manager (e.g., SAP S4 HANA) and skilled in driving process efficiency, inventory optimisation, and IT integration.

  • Experienced in CSV (Computer System Validation) and Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence methodologies, with a focus on enabling continuous improvement and fostering innovation.

  • Familiar with agile organisational models and leadership styles, embracing flexibility and adaptability in evolving environments.

  • Educated in a technical, business, or supply chain field (BA, MS, or MBA), with relevant certifications such as APICS or SCOR highly valued.

  • A strong communicator and relationship builder, adept at simplifying complex ideas and influencing stakeholders across diverse teams and hierarchical levels.
