Job Summary
Position is responsible for scheduling patient and clinical staff home appointments nursing compliance with orders and staff productivity.Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma preferred
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting
One (1) year experience as a dispatcher/scheduler
Ability to effectively communicate and follow oral and written instructions. Basic computer skills required
Ability to multi-task while working in a complex and stressful environment
Principal Accountabilities
Schedules patient and staff appointments and enters required information in the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
Verifies demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or caregiver.
Tracks various aspects of care requirements including date of care delivery, orders, supervisory visits, certification periods and re-hospitalization.
Communicates changes in orders to care delivery staff.
Schedules staff at or above required productivity levels.
Ensures schedules are accurate according to orders and insurance authorization.
Monitors and reviews field staff timeliness with documentation and reports findings to management.
Communicates in an effective and professional manner with Physicians, ancillary departments, nursing units, physicians’ office staff, insurance companies, as well as patients and their families. Completes thorough and accurate documentation.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
