Position Summary: Reports to the Administrative Director, Procedural Care Unit. Works collaboratively with clinical managers and physicians to deliver high quality procedural care and testing. The position holds clinical, operational, and fiscal responsibility and is accountable for ensuring the quality of patient care and excellence in customer service for the assigned areas of responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- As part of the Hospital Leadership Team, provides administrative oversight to the management team for following areas of responsibility:
- Surgery
- SPPR Recovery Room
- Sterile Processing
- Anesthesia
- Holds 24-hour responsibility, authority and accountability for all patient care and clinical practice within defined areas of responsibility including adherence to established policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
- Participates with members of patient care leadership to develop and implement goals and objectives for patient care that are consistent with the Hospital’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Plans budget requirements for personnel, operations, and capital. Utilizes resources effectively and contributes to cost containment efforts. Effectively monitors budgets and reports significant variances.
- Collaborates with physicians in scheduling, quality improvement activates, equipment and supply selection, clinical informatics, and other related operational activities.
- Ensures compliance with standards and regulations from local, state, and federal governments.
- Consistently evaluates processes in the departments and identifies opportunities to improve operations, costs, cycle time, enhance service and improve performance.
- Responsible for the development of the workforce and in creating a working environment that promotes employee engagement through by fostering positive employee attitudes, effective communication, collaboration, creativity, productivity, and continuous learning.
- Serves as a role model for professional behavior and demonstrates leadership ability by fostering commitment and inspiring trust with staff, physicians, and professional colleagues within the organization
- Consistently monitors opportunities to enhance employee and physician engagement and develops and implements action plans as required

Required Qualifications:
Education and Training:
- If RN, currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois
- If RT, currently licensed as a Radiology Technologist in the state of Illinois
- BS required
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effective time management skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Previous progressive management development and/or supervisory experience in a hospital setting preferred

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
