Cardiovascular Lab I Lexington, KY

Baptist Health invasive cardiac services, where compassionate care meets advanced treatment and research. Our three units encompass the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and Cardiovascular Observation Unit.  Our invasive Cardiac Services include cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, percutaneous catheter interventions, cardiac MEMs, interventional neurology, interventional radiology, cardiac ablations, pacemakers/defibrillators, left atrial appendage occlusion devices, loop recorder implants, transesophageal echocardiograms, and electrical cardioversions. The cardiovascular observation unit also serves as our preoperative and postoperative area. At Baptist Health, we treat the whole person, offering hope and strength on every patient’s journey. 

Description:

  • Clinical Coordinator Cath Lab assists the Department Director in coordination of delivery of patient care services within a designated scope.
  • Deploys human, fiscal and physical resources to achieve an established standard of excellence in patient care and an environment that promotes healing.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels for the assigned clinical role.
  • Assist department Director with updates of departmental policies and procedures as needed.
  • Supports team activities and/outcome. • Maintains high level of visibility on the unit.
  • Assists in the development and attainment of departmental goals.
  • Facilitates unit-based team activities and staff empowerment
  • Provides frequent feedback to staff members regarding performance and documents as appropriate.
  • Documents and administers annual performance appraisals as delegated.
  • Facilitates orientation plan for new staff in unit in conjunction with unit educators.
  • Ensure staff attendance at mandatory educational offerings.
  • Promotes organizational ownership by staff for unit and hospital initiatives.
  • Maintains confidentiality and privacy in both staff and patient interactions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Requires at least three years of experience in Cardiac Cath.
  • Minimum of two years of management experience.
  • Current RN license.
  • ACLS, and PALS.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
