The Sloane Hospital in Kent is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Chair to join their team of staff in the Senior Management department.

This is a part time role for 4 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Chair the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC), ensuring effective medical input into hospital governance and strategic decisions.
  • Chair the Hospital Clinical Governance Committee and actively participate in Senior Management Team meetings.
  • Ensure robust systems of clinical governance are in place in line with Circle Health Group’s framework.
  • Ensure a robust system of medical governance is implemented across the hospital.
  • Act as line manager for employed consultants and oversee management of Resident Medical Officers (RMOs).
  • Participate in hospital business planning and commercial development activities.
  • Provide daily visible leadership for medical teams, role-modelling Circle Health Group’s values and behaviours.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • GMC-registered medical practitioner with a licence to practise.
  • Substantive consultant-level experience with proven leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrable expertise in clinical governance, audit, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to chair high-level committees (e.g. MAC, governance committees).
  • Experience in medical workforce management, including appraisal and performance oversight.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of working effectively as part of a senior leadership team.
