Family MedicineJob Duties Outlined
Teaches residents in family medicine and medical students the basic principles of behavioral science, the biopsychosocial model, family systems, and the provision of psychosocial care in both the didactic and clinical setting.
Provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy with patients and families at the family medicine clinic.
Provides joint supervisions (precepting) of family medicine residents and students in the family medicine ambulatory clinical setting.
Works collaboratively with other behavioral science faculty, and with the Residency Director, in enhancing the family medicine residency.

Required Qualifications
Education: Doctorate degree in Psychology. Degree should be from an APA-approved clinical program, or in Family Therapy.
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
License: Must be licensed/eligible to practice as an independent practitioner in their discipline in the State of Kansas.
Work Experience: Experience within family medicine and the application of behavioral science principles, family systems, and the biopsychosocial model.
