Join us as a Clinical Application Consultant (CAC) - this dynamic position involves providing scientific training, consultancy, application support and troubleshooting to our customers mainly in oncology-related NGS clinical diagnostics. The candidate with Clinical NGS experience will be contributing to pre/post-sales support, customer implementation, KOL development, internal/external training, among other business objectives.

A day in the Life:

  • Support the clinical market on the operation of Thermo Fisher Scientific / Ion Torrent product portfolio with focus on oncology
  • Support sales in the achievement of the regional sales target by delivering product line specific pre- and post-sales related customer support activities
  • Provide scientific application support & training support to our clinical customers contributing significantly to customer happiness
  • Lead the implementation of assays and products / clinical solutions within customer sites
  • Manage and solve customer issues effectively through in-depth troubleshooting
  • Communicate and document product complaints to the Technical Support Team and collaborate towards a timely resolution.
  • Build relationships with KOLs or potential influencers
  • Conducts technical seminars and presentations virtually/at customer sites, trade-shows and workshops to drive customer adoption
  • Communicates effectively within team to improve others knowledge
  • Communicate crucial technical product updates to customers to ensure success.
  • Support and track customer’s projects toward publication
  • Maintain relationships with key Thermo Fisher Scientific collaborating partners.
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Estimated up to 40% travel, both domestic and international

Keys to Success:

  • Ph.D/Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Life Sciences or similar is highly desirable
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with next generation sequencing applications is required
  • Previous experience as application specialist in any NGS/BFX experience is desirable
  • Analytical mind with strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems
  • Understanding of the Diagnostic market and ability to gather good market intelligence with respect to competitive products and vendors
  • Highly motivated and accepts a challenging and exciting work environment, a team player, effectively work cross functional (interdisciplinary) and communicate empathically
  • Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective collaboration in a highly matrixed organization
  • Outstanding customer advocacy skills
  • Strong communications and presenting skills are important
