Position Overview
As a member of the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) team, reporting to the Senior Clinical Affairs Manager, ANZ, the Clinical Affairs Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring clinical excellence across sales, support and through our work with key opinion leaders.
This role will provide clinical education and technical expertise on Cochlear’s implantable hearing solutions to internal stakeholders (ANZ Sales, Customer Service and Cochlear Engagement team), professional customers, and hearing partners across Australia and New Zealand.
The Clinical Affairs Manager will use their hearing implant experience, problem solving, and communication skills to answer a broad range of clinical queries, ensure complex situations are managed according to best practice across Australia and New Zealand, manage training and professional education programs and clinical product launch and lifecycle requirements for commercial products approved in region.
The Clinical Affairs Manager is at the heart of Cochlear’s customer focused efforts, supporting the field team by:
Acting as internal consultant and subject matter expert - demonstrating subject matter expertise in audiology, sound processors, patient management, counselling, programming and troubleshooting
Provide technical and clinical expertise and information to calls received via the Clinical Helpline. Assist in ‘on the spot’ troubleshooting for Hearing Partner Clinicians over the phone.
Developing and delivering professional education programs such as workshops, online offerings, peer-to-peer training, information sessions and roundtables to ensure that Cochlear maintains its clinical excellence
Ensuring complex situations are managed according to best practice, including feedback to field, product development and other teams
Assisting with training related to new and existing Cochlear products, including Cochlear Implants, Baha implants and sound processors.
Acting as the conduit of information for telephone, email and website questions received by the Cochlear Customer Service or Field Teams.
Engaging with healthcare professionals through product and clinical education programs.
Mentoring new field team members as they build their skills in sales, cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing aids
You Bring Your Skills and Experience
As we grow our operations, we are looking for people with highly specialised skills and capabilities who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Minimum:
Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Audiology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) or country equivalent
Expert level knowledge of cochlear implants: minimum five years’ experience in audiological management of cochlear implant patients
Demonstrated skills in facilitation and adult learning
Outstanding communication (written and verbal)
Demonstrated ability to make timely, effective decisions, and to manage well under pressure
High energy, empathetic and ability to influence employees at all levels
Strong business acumen including problem solving skills, critical thinking and analysis
Ideal:
Experience in a field/commercial role
Experience with learning management systems
Project management skills
