Who we are looking for

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Client Reporting Automation Configurator to join State Street Markets, responsible for designing, owning, and delivering scalable client reporting and automation solutions across Markets Operations.

This role is ideal for a senior automation professional who combines deep financial operations knowledge with hands‑on low‑code/no‑code development expertise, and who is ready to take end‑to‑end ownership of business‑critical solutions. The successful candidate will act as a solution designer and technical owner, bridging business, technology, risk, and operations to deliver robust, well‑governed automation outcomes.

Why this role is important to us

State Street Markets supports institutional clients with research, trading, securities lending, and innovative portfolio strategies. Client reporting, automation, and data accuracy are mission‑critical to our ability to serve global clients efficiently and at scale.

  • Driving adoption of low‑code/no‑code and analytics platforms

  • Reducing operational risk through controlled, well‑designed automation

  • Enabling faster delivery while maintaining strong governance

  • As an AVP, this role is expected to shape solutions, not just build them.

What you will be responsible for

Solution Ownership & Design

  • Own the end‑to‑end design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of client reporting and automation solutions within Markets Operations

  • Act as solution designer and technical authority for macro‑based, low‑code/no‑code, and reporting platforms

  • Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and well‑controlled solutions

Delivery & Execution

  • Deliver hands‑on solutions using Excel/VBA, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), and other automation/analytics tools

  • Oversee and coordinate testing, deployment, and post‑implementation support

  • Ensure solutions meet performance, resilience, and control expectations

Governance, Risk & Controls

  • Embed risk, control, and audit considerations into solution design from inception

  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure adherence to internal standards

  • Proactively identify and remediate control gaps in existing reporting and automation tools

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Engage with global business stakeholders to prioritize demand and manage delivery expectations

  • Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to junior developers or analysts contributing to shared solutions

  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization across reporting and automation practices

What we value

The following capabilities are critical for success at AVP level:

  • Strong solution ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes

  • Ability to balance hands‑on delivery with design‑level thinking

  • Clear, confident communication with cross‑functional and senior stakeholders

  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on productivity, quality, and risk reduction

  • Curiosity and continuous learning, particularly in automation and analytics platforms

  • Comfort working across global teams and flexible working hours

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (Technology, Engineering, Finance, or related field preferred)

  • 10 plus years of proven experience in financial services operations (e.g., Markets, Agency Lending, Asset Servicing, IB Operations)

  • Strong hands‑on experience with:

    • Excel & VBA (Macros)

    • Low‑Code / No‑Code platforms (Microsoft Power Platform preferred)

    • SQL / Oracle or equivalent databases

  • Experience in data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric)

  • Exposure to automation and reconciliation tools (e.g., Xceptor, DUCO, Qlik) is a strong plus
