Job Description:
Role Summary
The Client Relationship Executive (CRE) is responsible for the overall client experience, retention and profitability for group retirement services clients. The CRE will interact with plan sponsors and plan advisors/consultants to promote our products, tools and services. The incumbent is also responsible for plan changes (plan amendments, fund changes), fee negotiations, and facilitating education requests. As well, the CRE is accountable for revenue generation through promotion of new products and services. Working with the sales director, the CRE will be expected to participate in formal and informal presentations promoting our capabilities and services to both new and existing clients.
What will you do?
Build strong client relationships through effective and proactive service along with efficient and accurate handling of reactive requests measured through client retention and client satisfaction results
Manage overall client profitability
Build sponsor understanding of Sun Life web tools and services to ensure clients are realizing potential benefits
Manage escalated requests effectively and efficiently
Leverage data to identify trends and member behaviours for clients; identify and execute on opportunities based said trends and on known client objectives
Establish and maintain thorough client analyses
Contribute to sales growth through effective finalist presentations and promotion of new products/services
Manage client needs and expectations related to ongoing projects
Educate clients on relevant, administrative and legislative processes and requirements such as federal and provincial legislative changes and evolving technological enhancements
Participate in pension committee and investment review meetings
Work effectively with internal partners with respect to education, investment services, pricing, administration and marketing support
What do you need to succeed?
Knowledge of pension industry including pension products and legislation
2-3 years experience working in Group Retirement services industry
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to motivate others through group presentations or individual interactions
Strong negotiating and influencing skills
Strong data analysis skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to quickly and effectively resolve escalations as they arise
Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to manage work autonomously, with limited direction
Proven record of building strong internal and external relationships
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to follow through
Strong overall knowledge of investment concepts
Responsive, with a focus on customer service
Ability to make sound decisions balancing business and customer needs
Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Salesforce
What will be good to have?
Professional designation associated with group retirement services or investment industry an asset (e.g., CEBS, RPS, IFIC or CSC)
University degree or equivalent experience
Notes/Unique requirements:
Some travel may be expected; must have access to a car and have full driver's licence.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
