Client Relations and Development Analyst

General Description

We are seeking a Client Relations and Development Analyst to join our team. The Client Relations and Development Analyst will support the Client Relations Manager in driving new business and strengthening client relationships. This role focuses on developing and implementing strategic planning processes to successfully execute business development strategies for the Client Relation and Opportunities (CRO) team. This client-facing role is responsible for supporting and leading initiatives aimed at increasing firm revenue and expanding client and referral relationships through essential new business opportunities that align with CMAS objectives in the region/area determined by Management. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who collaborates with various partners and professionals to enhance client relations that help generate business.
 

Additionally, as part of the CRO team, the analyst will help manage events, coordinate essential projects (e.g., core industry conferences such as ACG, AM&AA, and iGlobal) for the Corporate, M&A and Securities (CMAS) section, prepare and schedule conference meetings and materials, and assist with both internal and external client outreach. The position blends analytical rigor with strong interpersonal skills to ensure exceptional client experience and long-term relationship success.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as the primary CRO point of contact for client opportunities and key relationship development supporting partners in the region/area determined by Management, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and addressing inquiries promptly.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Source new leads and opportunities for the CMAS section and cross sell other sections and practices when the opportunity arises.
  • Work with the Manager and Director to establish clear and measurable client engagement goals each year, focusing on key performance indicators such as new client engagement, partner feedback, and growth in client portfolio value.
  • Participate in client development calls upon partner and/or CRO leadership request, contributing ideas, conducting competitor research, and facilitating follow-ups to enhance client service.
  • Stay informed about market trends and industry developments within the region/area determined by Management.
  • Analyze client data and feedback to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement and growth.
  • Assist in identifying, planning, and participating in external conferences, events, and publications that support partners in business development and opportunity identification, adhering to the firm's budgetary guidelines.
  • Support the reporting funnel, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), team engagement tagging on new matter intake, track opportunities, introductions, interactions, follow-up actions, and specific targets for HK Deal Flow, CMAS and other firm engagements as outcomes of these focused efforts.
  • Work in collaboration with the Sr. Analyst and Manager to produce regular reports on client engagement metrics, satisfaction levels, and service delivery, presenting findings to management.
  • Support client meetings, including agenda preparation, note-taking, and follow-up action tracking.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (Marketing, CRM, Finance, etc.) to resolve client, prospect and attorney needs.
  • Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law. 
  • Special projects and duties as assigned.
     

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Intapp DealCloud (experience customizing workflows, dashboards, and reports is a plus). Exceptional communicator with strong business writing, listening, and presentation skills.

Required Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Communications, Economics, English, Finance, Political Science or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in professional services (preferably legal).

Preferred Qualifications & Education

  • Familiarity with middle-market M&A processes or private capital markets.
  • Exposure to investment banking, private equity, venture capital, lender relationship management or corporate development.
  • Knowledge of data enrichment tools (e.g., PitchBook, Capital IQ).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.

This position may be filled in Illinois. In accordance with applicable Pay Transparency Laws, the pay range for this position in these locations is 102,000.00 - 152,000.00 per year.
