Why This Role Matters

The primary function of the Client Management Coordinator is to work closely with the Deputy Chairman in all high-level client related responsibilities. This role will be responsible for acting as a client coordinator and liaison, maintaining communication with global specialists, managing all works consigned to auction and private sales, offering works for sale, fielding client-facing and internal correspondence, logistics management, amongst other varying tasks.  The Client Management Coordinator will work in tandem with Sonya Roth, Deputy Chairman and the Los Angeles office, who are also supported by an account manager and gallery coordinator. The position requires exceptional organization, judgment, and attention to detail, as well as a proactive and client-first mindset.
 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Actively foster and maintain strong client relationships on behalf of the Deputy Chairman while establishing and nurturing relationships with top clients in order to consign and offer property.

  • Manage Deputy Chairman’s client accounts throughout full auction and private sale consignment process, including proposals, shipping, logistics, contract and client management. 

  • Build and maintain working relationships with internal departments, such as art departments, post-sale and client services, marketing, legal, finance, as well as external organizations and institutions.

  • Assist with client correspondence, estimate requests, bid facilitation, and general client service needs.

  • Liaise with clients and global sale teams to gauge and track interest in artworks and arrange client bid requests for year-round auctions across global sale sites.

  • Act as lead for all client-facing communication & requests.

  • Manage process of all consignments and ongoing projects for Deputy Chairman.

  • Manage and attend client walk-throughs, including tagging, condition checks, and property pickups.

  • Assist Specialist and Operations teams with shipping arrangements for incoming property.

  • Support client paperwork, appraisal documentation, and consignment management.

  • Partner with Post-Sale Services to ensure smooth invoicing, shipping, and settlement processes.

  • Maintain an active pipeline tracker of all client accounts and regularly communicate status updates to internal stakeholders.

  • Manage Deputy Chairman’s emails and direct client correspondence.

  • Keep up to date with industry developments and market trends.

  • Flexible working hours will be necessary during peak 20/21 sale seasons including weekend and evening hours.

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients on behalf of the business getters you support.

  • Maintain awareness of strategies around key clients and client groups.

  • Collaborate with the Client Strategy team to share and obtain relevant client intelligence.

  • Ad/Hoc Projects and duties as assigned by Manager.

 

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Art History, Business, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 – 4 years of relevant work experience. Experience in the Art World preferred.

  • Excellent communication, including superior written and spoken communication.

  • Experience supporting senior executives.

  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills, demonstrated with superiors, clients and peers.

  • Exceptional at building and maintaining relationships.

  • Self-starter and proactive approach.

  • Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Exceptional follow-up skills with attention to detail and strong typing skills.

  • A high level of diplomacy and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

  • Positive, problem solving attitude.

  • Knowledge of E-mail, Spreadsheet, Word Processing and Presentation software (Microsoft Office preferred).

  • Ability to learn Christie’s systems.

Compensation Range

Salary: $57,000.00 - $60,000.00
