What you'll be doing

As a Client Investment Analyst at CIBC Private Wealth Management, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality investment services to our clients. You will be responsible for preparing client-facing performance reports, supporting the investment management team, and monitoring portfolios and allocations. You will help keep the office and firm informed on assets under management, strategy performance, and account activity.

How you'll succeed 

  • Performance Reporting – Generate, prepare, update, and maintain client performance reporting, including mutual funds, proprietary CIBC Private Wealth Management funds, alternative investments, asset allocation snapshots and transitions, and total portfolio performance.

  • Data Analysis – Utilize internal systems, Bloomberg Terminal, and third-party sources to gather data for comprehensive reporting and analysis.

  • Excel Proficiency – Leverage your expertise in Excel to generate, update, and maintain reports that provide insights into client portfolios and investment performance.

  • Portfolio Monitoring – Monitor client asset allocations to ensure adherence to investment policy statements and internal strategies and rebalance allocations by buying or selling securities when necessary.

  • Strategy Reporting – Create periodic strategy performance reports for internal and external strategies, providing senior leadership with updates on performance, assets under management, and related metrics.

  • Client Communication – Provide clients with regular updates on their portfolios and investment performance, ensuring they are informed and confident in their financial strategies.

  • Team Collaboration – Work closely with portfolio managers, senior analysts, and other team members to deliver high-quality investment services and client solutions.

  • Market Research – Conduct research and analysis on various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments, to support investment decisions.

  • Investment Evaluation – Evaluate investment opportunities and provide well-supported recommendations to senior analysts and portfolio managers.

Who you are

  • You have a degree/diploma in accounting, finance, or economics.

  • You can demonstrate experience in financial modeling and analysis tools. It’s an asset if you have proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, or similar platforms.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
