The mission of our Business Technology (BT) team is to empower LiveRamp’s workforce through technology solutions that make their work easier, faster, and more effective. Within BT, our Client Services team plays a fundamental role in this work. Our Client Engineers – Mac are responsible for designing, building, and operating a secure, scalable, and delightful Mac experience for LiveRampers around the globe.
Job Title: Client Engineer – Mac
Location: Hyderabad, India (Primarily office-based, with collaboration across global teams)
You will:
Own the end-to-end Mac client experience at LiveRamp, serving as a subject matter expert for all things macOS.
Design, implement, and maintain standardized Mac build images, configuration baselines, and security policies aligned with LiveRamp’s standards.
Drive zero‑touch provisioning and automated enrollment of Macs via Apple Business Manager and MDM (e.g., Jamf, Workspace ONE, or Intune).
Package, deploy, and update macOS applications and agents at scale, minimizing end-user disruption and ensuring compliance.
Partner with Security to ensure macOS configurations, controls, and monitoring meet or exceed internal and regulatory requirements.
Identify high‑impact opportunities to automate Mac lifecycle workflows (onboarding, offboarding, device refresh, software deployment, patching).
Build and maintain scripts and tools using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell to automate Mac management at scale.
Leverage APIs, webhooks, and integration platforms to connect MDM, ITSM, identity, and asset systems, reducing manual work and improving data quality.
Implement configuration-as-code practices for MDM and Mac policies (e.g., version-controlled configuration, policy templates, reusable profiles).
Administer and optimize Jamf, for Mac management, including smart groups, policies, profiles, and compliance rules.
Ensure Mac endpoints remain healthy and compliant by managing OS upgrades, security patches, and software updates.
Collaborate with Security to deploy and manage CrowdStrike, Netskope, and other endpoint/security tools on macOS.
Maintain accurate, automated inventory of Mac hardware and installed software, supporting capacity planning, forecasting, and lifecycle management.
Provide coverage for Windows management in Workspace ONE or Microsoft Intune
Partner with procurement and vendors on Mac hardware standards, ordering, RMA, and warranties.
Provide Tier 2–4 support for complex Mac-related incidents and problems, including OS-level issues, performance problems, security findings, and app compatibility.
Troubleshoot issues across the Mac stack (OS, hardware, MDM, security agents, VPN, Wi‑Fi, identity, and applications).
Own complex issues end‑to‑end: investigate, identify root cause, implement fixes, and drive long‑term remediation via policy/automation.
Document fixes, runbooks, and KB articles to enable first-line teams and self‑service for end users.
Continuously evaluate the Mac user experience, identifying friction points and opportunities for improvement.
Propose and help implement enhancements across onboarding, app catalog, self-service tooling, and security posture.
Pilot new macOS features, Apple ecosystem capabilities, and third-party tools; provide recommendations based on data and user feedback.
Provide guidance and training to IT colleagues and end users on macOS best practices, features, and self‑service tools.
Host or support office hours, training sessions, and how‑to documentation focused on Mac.
Mentor junior engineers and support staff on Mac tooling, scripting, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Delivering an exceptional day‑to‑day technology experience for all LiveRampers.
Partnering with Security, Network Engineering, and other BT teams to keep our environment secure, performant, and reliable.
Administering and automating key business applications and services used across the company.
Enabling leaders and teams to move faster by removing technology friction and operational toil wherever it appears.
An insatiable need to help people and feel the satisfaction of delighting your customers, even while your primary focus is on platform engineering and automation rather than front‑line helpdesk work.
Incredible patience and empathy when partnering with teams who may be less technologically savvy, and the ability to translate Mac and security concepts into business‑friendly language.
At least 5 years of experience in IT, with 4+ years focused on macOS client engineering or Mac endpoint management in an enterprise environment.
Deep, hands‑on expertise with macOS administration, including:
OS deployment and upgrades
Configuration profiles, policies, and scripting
Troubleshooting kernel, system, and application-level issues
Significant experience with Jamf, Workspace ONE, or Microsoft Intune for Mac management (policy configuration, app packaging, smart groups, compliance rules).
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation of Mac-related tasks.
Experience deploying and managing security tools on macOS (e.g., CrowdStrike, Netskope, disk encryption, VPN, certificates).
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automations and integrations across IT systems (identity, ITSM, MDM, asset management).
Experience with Google Workspace (gSuite) and Microsoft 365 in a Mac-heavy environment.
A working understanding of core networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi‑Fi, routing, firewalls) sufficient to troubleshoot Mac connectivity issues and collaborate with Network Engineering.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools and using data to drive reliability and UX improvements.
An ISO, ITIL, or similar certification, or a strong desire to obtain them.
Experience managing large Mac fleets in a fast‑paced, global technology company.
Experience designing and operating zero‑touch provisioning using Apple Business Manager and MDM.
Experience leveraging configuration‑as‑code or infrastructure‑as‑code practices for Mac and MDM (e.g., Git-backed configuration, policy as code).
Familiarity with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure) from an IT / corporate services perspective.
Experience contributing to or authoring documentation, runbooks, automation playbooks, and user‑facing help content.
Experience with AI-based or modern automation tools in the endpoint or IT operations space is a plus.
