Hybrid Working: Team members are expected to come into the Alpharetta office as needed, based on business requirements and team collaboration needs. There is no fixed minimum number of in-office days; instead, attendance will be determined by project demands, meetings, and manager guidance. Any changes to your primary work location should follow the appropriate process as outlined in our handbook.
What You’ll Do:
As a Client Engagement Specialist / SQL Developer, you will serve as a critical bridge between DonorDirect’s clients and our technical platforms. This role blends deep SQL Server and data expertise with client-facing consultation, enabling you to translate ministry needs into well-designed, performant database and CRM solutions. You will work hands-on with data, reporting, and configuration while partnering closely with ministries to ensure solutions are accurate, scalable, and aligned with real-world operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Solutions Delivery
Meet directly with clients to gather requirements, understand ministry workflows, and document business needs.
Translate client requirements into practical, technically sound solutions within DonorDirect’s in-house software and CRM platforms.
Provide clear solutions, overviews, guidance, and recommendations aligned with ministry goals.
Deliver complete, documented solutions and communicate progress effectively with client stakeholders.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with ministries, balancing advocacy with system stability.
Collaboration & Contribution
Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to align solutions with platform standards.
Assist in validating and prioritizing requirements for projects and client requests.
Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes, and best practices.
Database Development & SQL Engineering
Write, troubleshoot, and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and scripts.
Support reporting, data analysis, and CRM configuration through efficient SQL design.
Improve and refactor existing SQL code and database objects to enhance maintainability and performance.
Performance, Quality & Reliability
Analyze query execution plans and apply indexing and optimization strategies.
Test and debug your own work to ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and correctness across client solutions.
Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience working with SQL Server in a production environment.
2+ years of professional experience in technical consulting and solution delivery.
Strong proficiency in T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience leveraging AIassisted development tools (e.g., code generation, query optimization, analysis) to improve productivity, quality, and speed of delivery.
Experience with report building, data analysis, and solution development.
Familiarity with software quality assurance best practices
Hands-on experience using:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
Microsoft Visual Studio
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with:
HTML / CSS
CRM systems
Software versioning systems like GitHub, DevOps, etc.
GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools.

Ability to work efficiently and be productive in a remote work environment.
Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work and collaborate via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other meeting technologies.
