What will you do in this role?
The role manages assigned reinsurance claims from notification through resolution, ensuring timely and accurate handling in line with contractual obligations.
The role assesses coverage, liability, and quantum for complex and high-value claims, applying sound judgment and technical expertise.
The role negotiates settlements directly with counterparties and brokers, balancing fairness with AXIS’s financial objectives.
The role maintains clear, accurate, and complete documentation to support audit and regulatory requirements.
The role provides proactive communication to internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring transparency and trust throughout the claims process.
The role identifies potential risks and escalates issues that could impact AXIS’s financial position or reputation.
The role contributes to portfolio analysis by providing insights on trends, emerging risks, and reserving accuracy.
The role collaborates with underwriting, actuarial, and finance teams to support strategic decision-making and profitability goals.
The role exercises autonomy in managing complex claims within agreed authority limits, seeking guidance only on exceptional matters.
The role supports continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements and sharing best practices across the Claims Group.
You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.
About You:
Ability to adjust and manage claims using ECF (DOCO), ensuring accuracy and compliance with market standards.
Knowledge of casualty, motor, property, marine, and aviation classes, with the ability to apply this understanding to complex claim scenarios.
Analytical skills to evaluate coverage, liability, and quantum, and make decisions when faced with ambiguity or incomplete information.
Negotiation skills to achieve fair and timely settlements, balancing client relationships with AXIS’s financial objectives.
Clear and confident communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation, supporting audit and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in using claims systems and Microsoft Office tools, including creating reports and summaries for management.
Organizational skills to manage multiple claims concurrently, prioritizing effectively under changing circumstances.
Collaborative mindset, able to work with underwriting, actuarial, and finance teams to support business goals.

Experience handling international claims or working across multiple jurisdictions.
Ability to use data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI) to create dashboards and identify trends.
Knowledge of market developments and emerging risks in reinsurance
