We’re looking for a Claims Information Analyst Intern to support claims transformation through data analysis, dashboarding, and process improvement. In this role, you’ll help evaluate end-to-end workflows and build reporting that reduces manual intervention by leveraging digitization, AI, and automation. You will join a newly established team dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency and excellence. By leveraging data, artificial intelligence, and automation, the team aims to modernize claims processes and reporting—the central components of our business. 

Program Details and Requirements: 

  • Premera’s Summer Internship Program is June 15th August 21st2026.   

  • To be eligible for the program, you must currently be enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate degree program or have recently obtained your degree (within the last 12 months).  

  • This is a hybrid internship programlocatedon our campus in Mountlake Terrace, WA. 

Internship Projects and Goals: 

  • Evaluate end-to-end claims workflows for business functions such as Coordination of Benefits; document opportunities to reduce rework and cycle time. 

  • Support process improvement efforts by recommending practical changes and contributing to automation solutions that eliminate manual work. 

  • Build and enhance dashboards for claims inventory and operational reporting to replace fragmented, manual reports. 

  • Partner with stakeholders (e.g., information analysts, data engineers, and business process analysts) to define metrics, validate data, and deliver insights. 

  • Assist with digitization, AI, and automation initiatives aligned to the Operational Efficiency and Excellence priority. 

What You Will Bring: 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Analytics, Informatics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or similar). (Required) 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; interest in operational process improvement. Ability to translate business questions into clear metrics and reporting. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical partners. 

  • Dashboarding experience with Power BI (preferred) and/or Tableau. 

  • SQL experience for querying and validating data. 

  • Exposure to automation/RPA tools such as Power Automate. 

  • Curiosity about applying AI to improve business workflows and reporting.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.

National Plus Salary Range:

$44,400.00 - $82,200.00

*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
