Job Description

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS AND ACOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide leadership on setting up and implementation of systems, processes, and standards of WCM principles for all relevant departments. To ensure all assets are best utilized giving superior performance with high safety standards as well as optimum customer service level and at minimized manufacturing cost. To ensure mill has proper organizational structure and is managed and run by the best resources in class.

  • Provide leadership on ensuring all practices complied to KC global requirements.

  • Set 5S Standards beginning with Safety and Product Quality expectations for mill.

  • Drive Leader Standard Work processes via GEMBA and Lean Six Sigma best practices including third party vendors operating on the site, checks and drive action to closure 

  • Manage and control operation budgets (including capital projects) and drives, delivers transformation cost saving opportunities.

  • Involve in the Regional/Global Product Supply Network to benchmark and share best practices aiming to continuously improve the manufacturing capability of Kimberly Clark Corporation.

  • Provide leadership in setting up and driving company strategies aiming at strengthening and expanding business position of KC corporation.

  • Creates, motivates, and leads cross-functional teams across the organization to achieve the objectives of the company.

  • Fosters culture of teamwork which values employee engagement and open communication among diverse workforce within the facility and the business as a whole

  • Lead systemic approach to workforce planning and succession planning, including identification and development of top talent

  • Foster a performance-based culture, including performance standards and career development planning for key talent to enhance the employee value proposition and positively impact employee engagement and retention

  • Drive mill Leadership Team to build the High-Performance Work System and World Class Manufacturing Culture/practices in the organization.

  • Lead the implementation and continuous execution of performance management process in the mill organization following global/regional directions/policy.

  • Develop future generation of mill leadership team as well as of regional/global team aiming at delivering continuously best in class results of WCM objectives.

  • To proactively promote, participate and provide supports in the development and maintenance of the Mill Environment, Health, and Safety Management System (EHSMS) in a manner that will help to eliminate occupational injuries and illness at the mill. This will include but not limited to;

  • Comply with K-C and regulatory requirements related to EHS&S

  • Support the identification, reporting, escalation and control of safety and environmental hazard to ensure risks are managed to acceptable levels.

  • Support/lead EHS&S events investigations to ensure root cause evaluations are conducted and effective corrective/preventative actions are implemented.

  • Complete and ensure direct reports complete appropriate EHS&S orientation/training.

  • Ensure adherence of contractors to relevant K-C standards and requirements

  • Support EHS&S culture initiatives and programs

  • To proactively promote, participate and provide supports in the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System that comply to the desired requirement and meeting the CSCU expectation through consistent implementations of the established standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establish and promote a safety culture incorporating EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) practices in the mill to prevent unsafe conditions and work accidents. Expectation includes establishing and completing yearly safety plan which would results in continuous improvement in safety KPIs.

  • Ensure optimum application of quality management system in the mill to manufacture and deliver products which meet or exceed customer expectations for quality, performance and value and to strive for continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement specific mill manufacturing operating plan to meet the KCMS OGSM  business targets for all the sectors supported by Kluang mill manufacturing operations. 

  • To lead and direct the assets management team in the mill to achieve the desired production KPIs through the implementation of best practices and benchmarking for continuous improvement.

  • To lead and direct the in planning and execution of CAPEX in the mill to support the business growth and facilities process and product improvement needs meeting the budget and timelines.

  • Involve in the Regional/Global Product Supply Network to benchmark and share best practices aiming to continuously improve the manufacturing capability of Kimberly Clark Corporation.

  • Provide leadership in setting up and driving company strategies aiming at strengthening and expanding business position of KC corporation.

  • Lead the implementation and continuous execution of performance management process in the mill organization following global/regional directions/policy.

  • Develop future generation of mill leadership team as well as of regional/global team aiming at delivering continuously best in class results

  • Lead in developing staffing and organizational effectiveness that build capability of the mill team through the Performance Management system and ensure employee are developed to their fullest potential through coaching, appropriate training and education, set challenging goals and personal objectives with engagement that will enhances performance to achieve the KCMS OGSM.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position operates in an environment with constant change and challenge for continuous improvement require a team that are highly committed and engaged to deliver the products and cost that will maintain the competitiveness status of the mill among all other KC operations. The benchmarking and assets performance ranking will ensure the assets performance to be managed and sustained in the competitive environment internally and externally.

  • The incumbent is required to work with minimum supervision in leading the mill team and established a sound and solid operation plan that will complement the KCMS OGSM business plan and objectives.

  • The job holder is expected to communicate and deliver the mill performance updates and key mill initiatives and activities presentation to all mill team and all level of seniority in an organization.

  • The incumbent has the freedom to act within agreed policies and procedures that are meeting the corporate internal control and CFI guidelines and have responsibility in ensuring all the practices in the mill are at the best of interest of Kimberly Clark – Doing what’s right for KC.

  • The incumbent must also be responsible in ensuring the availability of talents pool with high level of capability and competency focuses on succession of key positions in the mill to be able to sustain and support the mill long-term growth plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree qualification together with a minimum of 12 years operational management (or relevant) experience

  • Evidence of a solid background of specialized knowledge / experiences in the particular discipline and a proven record of working with variety of customers across business functions and sectors will be an added advantage to competently handle this position

  • Business and financial acumen with the ability to work with business stakeholders

  • Strong leadership qualities with excellence interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.

  • Able to make decision with calculated risks

  • Excellent communication skill in English – both written and spoken

  • Deep understanding of manufacturing fundamentals and hands on knowledge

  • Passionate about quality systems management

  • Proven track record of developing expense and capital budgets and managing financial performance
