Job Summary: You will independently apply advanced design principles, make informed decisions on complex design challenges, and represent the organization in project meetings to address key issues or coordinate with lead engineers, stakeholders, and external partners. You will provide technical and creative guidance to other designers and less-experienced team members and will be a trusted resource whose expertise and judgment are relied upon for critical design direction and solutions.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Take ownership of the technical content and accuracy of construction-released civil and structural drawings.
Plan, design, and produce detailed engineering drawings, models, and specifications in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Prepare structural calculations and analyses to support design integrity and constructability.
Provide technical support during the construction phase, including problem-solving, responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and addressing field design issues.
Coordinate and interface civil/structural designs with other engineering and design disciplines to ensure seamless integration across the project.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve design issues and ensure project milestones are met.
Maintain accurate design documentation and records throughout the project lifecycle.

Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.
Certification: Certification is not required at this level.
Experience: This position requires 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural drafting and design.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to produce drawings for concrete and structural steel, and/or civil disciplines.
Familiarity with specifications and details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
Ability to create accurate civil/structural construction documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings.
Knowledge and understanding of work flow/information flow between disciplines.
Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all civil/structural deliverables.
Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good presentation skills.
Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships continue to develop, and providing interoffice execution support under general supervision.
