About the Opportunity

Our Calgary office is looking to add 2 enthusiastic Civil Drafting Technologists to our Design Production Team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a highly collaborative environment and work alongside our team of engineering, planning, and drafting specialists.

Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities, do you see yourself excited to contribute to:

  • Carrying out design drawing tasks and AutoCAD assignments.
  • Support engineering personnel in the field with design, drawing production, and/or construction specifications.
  • Following drafting procedures, accepting drafting standards, completing drawing tasks, and following file management procedures.
  • Ensuring quality control of your design production work.
  • Building relationships with team members and clients.
  • Performing a variety of design production assignments with independent judgment.
  • Advising on and reviewing technical challenges.
  • Translating high-level conceptual designs into fully constructed projects, from preliminary phases through to project completion.
  • Assisting with project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.

 

About You

Our ideal candidate is a recent graduate from an Engineering Design and Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent program with up to 2 years of experience. The core skills that will help you succeed here include:

  • You are proficient in Civil3D and AutoCAD.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Excel, other Microsoft Office software, and PDF editing software such as Bluebeam.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can effectively communicate with others to ensure clear and efficient collaboration.
  • You have excellent drafting skills and a strong knowledge of drawing set-up and production.
  • You possess a keen eye for detail and take great pride in your work, in projects both large and small.
  • You are committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • You are registered, or eligible for registration, with ASET, or an equivalent provincial or territorial association, as a Technologist in Training, Applied Science Technologist, or Certified Engineering Technologist (preferred).
  • You have a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
  • Being familiar with Geographic Information Systems would be considered an asset.
