Hours: 40 hours per week; M-F 8:30-5 PM EST.

Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) solutions in order to meet the organization's needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure.  In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Infrastructure Support duties: Installs, configures, administers, supports, or maintains IT software and hardware systems, IT data/voice network systems, and internal databases. Ensures the uptime, performance, and resource availability of the computers and other IT systems; matches the organization's resources with the demand placed on them; monitors organization's wide area and/or local area network performance; identifies and resolves network problems; upgrades network hardware, software and telecommunications equipment including set up the servers, routers, cables. This job builds infrastructure and systems, maintain and troubleshoot Tier 2 problems.  A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs.   The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education.  An experienced level role that applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.  Works independently with general supervision, problems faced are difficult but typically not complex, and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Job Overview

Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Citrix infrastructure to support an AWS-hosted Epic environment.  Ensure the performance, availability, and scalability of Citrix services for delivering Epic and third-party business and clinical applications.  Manage Citrix Storefront, configure load balancers, and optimize end-user access to critical healthcare applications across a geographically dispersed healthcare system.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School or equivalent.

2. Five (5) years of experience in Citrix architecture, implementation, and administration

3. AWS Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C01) Certification or obtain within 90 days from hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

2. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or relevant AWS Certification.

3. Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) Certification.

4. Epic Client Systems Certification.

5.Two (2) years of experience in an AWS cloud services position.

6.. Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V).

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Architect and implement a robust Citrix environment tailored for delivering Epic EHR and 3rd Party Clinical and Business applications hosted in AWS.

2. Design and manage Citrix Storefront and Citrix ADC (formerly NetScaler) load balancers to ensure efficient and secure access to Epic and third-party applications.

3. Ensure high availability, load balancing, and redundancy across Citrix components for optimal performance and user experience.

4. Optimize Citrix infrastructure for the AWS-hosted Epic environment, leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, Direct Connect, and VPC.

5. Collaborate with AWS cloud architects and engineers to ensure seamless integration between Citrix and AWS-hosted pic environments.

6. Implement secure and scalable network architectures in AWS to support Citrix deployments.

7. Support the delivery of Epic applications and other third-party business and clinical applications through Citrix.

8. Ensure efficient deployment and configuration of applications within the Citrix environment, providing a smooth user experience for healthcare professionals.

9. Monitor and troubleshoot application performance issues, resolving Citrix-related problems swiftly. Provide on-call support for critical Citrix-related issues and participate in an on-call rotation.

10. Continuously monitor Citrix performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing resources to enhance user experience.

11. Implement strategies to scale Citrix resources dynamically to meet fluctuating demand, especially during peak usage.

12. Ensure load balancing of Citrix sessions across different regions or availability zones in AWS for improved reliability and performance.

13. Configure security policies and encryption to safeguard data during transmission between Citrix clients and the AWS-hosted applications.

14. Work closely with IT, Epic, and application support teams to understand requirements and ensure Citrix services meet the organization’s needs.

15. Act as the primary Citrix expert, guiding and advising other teams on best practices and optimal configurations.

16. Engage with third-party vendors for application integration and ongoing support of clinical and business applications delivered through Citrix.

17. Maintain comprehensive documentation of Citrix architecture, configurations, policies, and procedures.

18. Provide regular reports on system performance, uptime, and usage patterns, including resource utilization in AWS.

19. Perform regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades to the Citrix infrastructure and integrated AWS components and ensure that Citrix environments remain up to date with the latest security patches and software versions.

20. Plan and execute migrations, expansions, or major changes with minimal impact on end-users.

Physical Requirements:

1. Work environment: professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

2. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operate office equipment.

3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate, and exchange information.

4. Able to see and read computers displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.

5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Skills & Abilities:

1. Skilled in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), Citrix ADC (NetScaler), Citrix Storefront, and Citrix Director.

2. Knowledge of AWS services and integrating Citrix environments with these services.

3. Knowledge of networking, load balancing, and security concepts in a Citrix and cloud-hosted infrastructure.

4. Skilled in using monitoring tools for performance analysis and optimization in AWS-hosted environments.

5. Knowledge of automation tools for managing cloud-based Citrix deployments.

6. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.

7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including third-party vendors.

8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand, high pressure healthcare IT environment.
