Cigna Pharmacy Regulatory Compliance Director - Cigna Healthcare - Remote

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Director of Pharmacy Regulatory Compliance to join the Cigna Pharmacy Management team. This role will lead our compliance operations and ensure adherence to regulatory standards across our pharmacy services. This role is responsible for managing a high-performing compliance team, driving strategic regulatory planning, and overseeing first-line compliance activities that support operational integrity and risk mitigation.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of pharmacy regulations, strong leadership capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of compliance professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth while ensuring team alignment with organizational goals.
  • Strategic Regulatory Planning: Monitor evolving requirements including critical state government trends, proposed legislation, regulations, and industry issues that proactively address risks and support business objectives.
  • First-Line Compliance Operations: Oversee day-to-day compliance activities including audits, monitoring, issue management, and reporting needs. Ensure timely identification, escalation, and resolution of compliance risks across pharmacy operations.
  • Policy & Procedure Management: Maintain and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with federal, state, and industry standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with legal, operations, technology, and business teams to ensure compliance is embedded into processes and decision-making.
  • Cultivate Innovative Governance Solutions: Lead regulatory oversight to promote best practices and consistency in regulatory reporting and other evidence-based efforts, including strategic ideation, development, negotiation, and maintenance for all activities.
  • Training & Awareness: Lead the development and delivery of compliance training programs to promote awareness and understanding of regulatory obligations across the organization.
  • Senior Leadership Engagement: Provide information related to current legislative, regulatory, and other government activities to senior leaders as appropriate and communicate effectively with enterprise partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, PharmD) preferred.
  • 5+ years plus of experience in healthcare or pharmacy compliance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of pharmacy regulations, including CMS, DEA, FDA, and state boards of pharmacy.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex compliance programs.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment and influencing cross-functional stakeholders. 


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 154,400 - 257,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
