Chinese Fine Dining Restaurant - Jiang Nan Chun is looking for a professional Sommelier who will look after curating, managing, and presenting the restaurant’s wine and beverage program. This role requires expert knowledge of wines, spirits, and pairings, with a passion for enhancing the guest dining experience through exceptional service and education.
What you will do
Develop, curate, and maintain an extensive and balanced wine list aligned with the restaurant’s cuisine and clientele.
Source and negotiate with distributors and suppliers to ensure quality, exclusivity, and profitability.
Manage wine cellar inventory, including purchasing, storage conditions, rotation, and accurate record-keeping.
Create and update wine pairings for tasting menus and special events.
Engage with guests to recommend and serve wines, spirits, and beverages tailored to their preferences and menu selections.
Ensure each guest receives attentive, personalized, and refined service.
Handle rare or high-value bottle service with discretion and professionalism.
What you bring
Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level 3 or higher, or equivalent certification).
Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and vintages.
Strong understanding of spirits, sake, and craft beverages is an asset.
Exceptional service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, poise, and professionalism under pressure.
Ability to lift and handle cases of wine and stand for extended periods.
