Primary Purpose of Job (Job Summary)
China Corporate and Portfolio Strategy (CPS) drives the affiliate portfolio prioritization and strategy as well as partnering with the global organization and the full China value chain (CiCOR, PD-China, commercial, partnering manufacturing) to manage and accelerate the Roche pipeline to shape the future of Roche China and benefit Chinese patients.
As a member of China CPS, you will lead, coordinate and take responsibility for the implementation of the Roche Pharma China Strategy. You will act as a bridge between Roche China value chain and Global leadership to amplify China’s voice, advocate for China at every opportunity and ultimately increase the commitment and accountability of both local and Global leaders to implement the China strategy and achieve the 2030 Roche China ambitions

Principal Roles & Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Coordinate and work with the Roche China site heads to develop and execute an implementation plan for the China pharma strategy to deliver the Roche China 2030 ambitions
Develop and track key performance indicators for the implementation of the Roche China strategy to assess success
Establish self as the key contact and catalyst for the China Affiliate between Global Product Strategy, Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED and gRED), Global Product Development, Global Medical Affairs, along with other internal / external networks to raise the voice of China and drive the implementation of the China strategy
Build and maintain trusting relationships with key senior Global cross-functional leadership by regularly engaging them to facilitate the implementation of the China strategy and keep China top-of-mind
Conduct activities and events to regularly educate the global organization on the China market and the China strategy and keep share-of-voice high e.g. functional updates, site road-shows, GPS China days
Lead the preparation and delivery of all senior manager updates on the progress of the China strategy implementation
Develop a deep understanding of the evolving Chinese Healthcare system as well as National political, economic and societal trends in China. Synthesize these insights to develop a forward-looking narrative for the China market which can be used to make informed enterprise decisions
Provide strategic collaboration and partnership between China and the Global organization to co-create future integrated strategies for China
Qualifications and Experience
BS/BA in Business Administration or Life Sciences, MD, PhD, MBA preferred, management consulting experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred
10+ years multidisciplinary experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry including commercial experience and demonstration of commercial success
Solid scientific background and understanding with an in-depth knowledge of drug development, the pharmaceutical value chain and in particular the China pharmaceutical market
In-depth knowledge of, and established network in both the full value chain of the Roche China affiliate and the global Roche organization
Strong learning agility, strategic ability and enterprise thinking
Proven track record of leading successful teams and influencing without authority – matrix leadership
Leadership presence with ability to challenge and hold ground with global and affiliate senior leaders
Multi-cultural awareness and ability to operate effectively in the global and local China environment
Advanced communication and presentation skills
Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese
