Job Description:
The position is intended for day-to-day management of child protection, and the incumbent will implement child protection policies, systems and processes of World Vision Lesotho (WVL) by creating a conducive environment for a smooth engagement of children, assess risks associated with child wellbeing, and implement direct interventions with children, families and communities in the Area Programme (AP).
The position will work closely and together on daily basis with Sponsorship Data Clerks at AP level. The role involve participation in child registration process to link with sponsors, into child assess vulnerability level, investigate concerns, build relationship with sponsors, children, families, communities and partners operating in the AP. The role acts as a linkage between a child, family, sponsors and WVL to ensure effective implementation of sponsorship products and programmes.
The role also maintains Registered Children (RC) accurate documentation for decision making process. It promotes and protect children’s rights by effectively implementing policies to prevent harm, neglect and exploitation.
Sponsorship Programme Implementation & Children Enrolment (40%)
- Undertake follow up/home visits and monitoring within agreed timeframe to gain insights into the situations of the child & family and the outcomes of the support.
- Recruit and Update Registered Children (RC), update information in the files and Sponsorship Single User Interface (SSUI)
- Implement sponsorship product and system at AP level in line with WVL standard and Partnership Guidelines
- Ensure that monitoring of CWB is observed for all RC within the set sponsorship standards using Transformed Field Environment (TFE) and provide a follow up plan and report on missing children
- Ensure that each Registered Child is visited at home once every 90 days quarter
- Captures good practices, innovations, impact stories, photos and videos for sponsors, potential donors and other stakeholders.
2. Policy Implementation & Promotion of Child Rights (20%)
- Establish a healthy conversation with children, families and communities to assess needs and investigate concerns or allegations of abuse
- Create a conducive atmosphere to enable smooth implementation of child protection related policies
- Keep accurate, confidential and up-to-date records of all children cases and interventions
- Champion rights, safety and wellbeing of children in all activities within the AP
- Raise awareness about child protection legislation and children rights to children; families and all community-based structures within the AP
- Prepare and provide evidence on behalf of children to any authorized institution as may be required.
3. Capacity Building & Implementation of Cross Cutting Themes (20%)
- Ensure RC participation and regularly update the data in the system (TFE)
- Provide support in community mobilization & education on sponsorship to the APs, new registration of RC as per National Office selection criteria.
- Facilitate communication and advocacy initiatives within the designated Area Programme. • Implement faith and development activities in the AP to nurture children spiritual growth, in a quest to bring hope and life in its fullness.
- Facilitates and monitor children development activities with the AP in collaboration with technical teams
- Establish and maintain contact with local authorities and statutory agencies
- Coordinate trainings on Gender, Diversity and Inclusion, Climate Change and Disaster reduction to create awareness, prepare and empower AP communities with resilience mechanisms.
4. Relationship Management & Reporting (20%)
- Process requests from the sponsors to the children.
- Act as a liaison person between Cluster, AP, RCs, Families, Communities and Partners for effective implementation of Integrated Programme Frameworks (IPFs)
- Processes correspondences from the children to the sponsors, which are Christmas cards, Annual Progress Reports (APR) and other correspondences when applicable.
- Process Gift Notification and provide report as guided by sponsorship standards.
- Run TFE reports and prepare narrative monthly report to the supervisor and technical teams.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in social sciences, community Development or at least 2 years working experience from community development, disaster management or youth and children participation programme
- Ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising quality of deliverables
- Conversant with computer applications
- Passionate about children and the related issues
- Ability to interpret system-based reports and provide data-driven decision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work in a Christian environment and a willingness to engage beyond religious boundaries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to comprehend the audience
- Strong relationship building/network capacity, spiritual maturity in Christian faith, ability to influence, innovative, and proactive personality.

Working Environment / Conditions
Domestic Travel: 100% travel to Area Program and project areas is required.
