Job Description

Functional Responsibilities

Planning, implementation, monitoring, control functions and procedures of security operations at all China.

Role Responsibilities

Key liaison person between AirAsia and the local Regulator

Functional Duties

  • Manages security operations, policies and compliance with security legislation, regulation and Group requirements.

  • Act as Air Carrier Management Representative (ACMR) on behalf of the Company

  • Keeps abreast of existing and new legislation and ensures compliance to federal, state and local requirements to include anticipation of future legislation.

  • Respond to quality issues, understanding compliance drivers and formulating resolutions.

  • Addresses security compliance, procedures, and planning with airline personnel, contractors, etc.

  • Organize appropriate risk reporting (compliance risks, systemic issues and management metrics), preparing management reports and escalating issues where appropriate.

  • Responsible for the full range of selection, training, evaluation, counseling and recommendations.

  • Manages security awareness / situational awareness and formal security training for security staff both locally & internationally. Identifies potential security concerns, collecting and analyzing data on trends and patterns, reviewing security inspection reports and formulating alternatives to address trends and concerns.

  • Provide assessments of threats / risk vulnerabilities in response to emergencies / crisis situations / station and appointment of security contractors and evaluate adherence to standards and ensure quality control.

  • Maintain close liaison with local and international agencies in the interest of enhancing security.

  • Develop annual plan and budget developments for sub-department to align with department-wide’s strategy including ensuring budget adherence to the approved budget.

  • Plan, manage and maintain all security training internal / external at respective stations.

  • Provide relevant security threat / risk assessments for mitigation actions to be carried out by all stakeholders which includes management and control of external service providers. This will be achieved by assessment before appointment of external service providers and further enhanced via scheduled audits, inspections and tests (where authorized). After appointment of external service providers, scheduled audits and inspections will be carried out. In the event of any non-compliance and/or any measures deemed required for improvement, this will be reviewed and action to be taken for continual improvement.

  • Has authority to make decisions related to Security Operations matters after consulting with the Chief of Security.

Role Duties

  • To report all security breaches, security inadequacies and non-compliance to the Chief of Security.

  • Responsible for reviewing local regulatory changes and updating the Security head on any regulatory changes.

  • Manage security operations of the Company in the respective stations and ensure the security contractors deliver the agreed standard of services.

Minimum working experience:

Five (05) years of qualitative experience in the areas of Security in the Aviation Industry.

Education:

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any field.

Professional qualifications:

Familiarity with airline business systems and processes.

Training required for the position (if any):

AVSEC Management, ICAO National Auditor, ICAO National Instructor.
