About Ultra
Ultra builds industrial AI robots that are working in the real world today. Our robots automate mission-critical warehouse labor end-to-end, starting with e-commerce order packaging. We deploy fast, learn from real production data, and iterate aggressively. We already have multiple revenue-generating robots operating in U.S. warehouses, and are now scaling toward hundreds of deployments over the next couple years. Our goal is simple: build the most advanced, most productive industrial AI robots on the planet.
About the Role
As Chief of Staff , you’ll work closely with the CEO and founders to help build and lead the operational backbone that enables Ultra to scale. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, product, operations, sales, legal, finance, and external partners. Your mandate is to turn complex goals into clear plans with owners and timelines, unblock bottlenecks, and help set the strategy that gets us to hyperscale.
You’ll work across every part of the company - fundraising, GTM, operations, hiring, product, deployment - owning whatever is most important at any point in time. Sometimes that means designing systems; other times it means doing the work yourself. This role is about making the company move faster. Over time, it can grow into a senior operator role (e.g. Head of Revenue, BizOps, GTM, or another function you help stand up).
Location: This is a on-site role based in New York City, with frequent travel.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the CEO : Act as an extension of the CEO across mission-critical priorities. Step in, own problems, and drive them to successful outcomes.
- Strategy → execution : Turn messy ideas into clear plans with owners, timelines, and outcomes. Push projects over the finish line.
- Systematize : Identify operational bottlenecks across the business and create scalable systems and metrics to solve them.
- Fundraising : Support investor research, pitch development, data room prep, process management, and follow-ups.
- Go-to-market : Help with sales research, decks, customer meetings, pilots, on-sites, and closing when needed.
- Customer Ops : Slot into deployment efforts, structuring contracts, pricing, and operational execution.
- Internal Ops : Assist with internal scaling initiatives, including hiring, office expansion and management, and company planning.
- Special projects : Embed within teams, kickstart new initiatives, quickly prove viability and strategic value.
- Forward deploy : travel to partner sites when necessary to win deals or solve problems. Est 1-2 times per month.
Who You Are
- Highly structured : You reduce complexity into clear, executable communication and plans.
- Relentlessly resourceful : You figure things out without waiting for permission.
- Low ego, high output : You’ll happily do unglamorous work if it moves the company forward.
- Technically literate : You don’t need to be an engineer, but you can grok what we’re building and build intuition.
- Generalist : You enjoy bouncing between strategy and execution, thinking and doing, and are a natural multi-tasker.
- Calm under pressure : You thrive in fast, ambiguous, high-intensity environments.
Experience and Skills
- 3-7+ years in technology, startups, consulting, or similarly demanding environments.
- Exceptional analytical, operational, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Experience owning cross-functional projects end-to-end.
- Comfortable analyzing data, defining metrics, working with engineers to build dashboards and pipelines,
- Basic financial and legal fluency
- At ease working directly with executives, investors, customers, and engineers.
Expected Compensation
$165,000 - $225,000/annual salary + equity + benefits
