The Boeing Company is looking for a Chief of Staff - Human Factors Engineering (HFE) Functional Chief Engineer (FCE) to join our team in Everett, Washington. This role will directly support the HFE FCE office, and partner with leaders and members of the Technical Fellowship across Human Factors Engineering, and peer FCE offices, to optimize organizational effectiveness, and enable the HFE FCE to focus on high-impact leadership priorities. This position serves as a trusted advisor and operational partner, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, managing key projects, and ensuring alignment across the HFE organization and broader enterprise.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced, Senior, and Lead Level Chief of Staff - Human Factors Engineering (HFE) Functional Chief Engineers (FCE). 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the HFE FCE and core leadership team to manage daily operations, prioritize initiatives, and streamline decision-making processes

  • Oversee the strategic management of the FCE’s travel plans, content, and follow-up

  • Serve as a liaison between the FCE and internal/external stakeholders, including engineering teams, program leaders, peer FCE offices, and executive leadership

  • Facilitate leadership meetings, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up on critical issues

  • Prepare and review presentations, reports, and communications for senior leadership and external partners

  • Analyze data and metrics to provide insights that inform strategic planning and operational improvements

  • Coordinate strategic programs across the FCE office, ensuring alignment with Boeing’s business objectives and Human Factors Engineering goals

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and technical excellence within the Human Factors Engineering organization

  • Act as a delegate for the FCE at non-technical meetings

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Basic Qualifications (Require Skills/Experience):

  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

  • 1+ years of experience of leading by influence, without formal authority

  • 3+ years of experience supporting and engaging with organizational senior leadership and their teams to coordinate priority needs, support internal and external events, and provide effective travel arrangements when necessary

  • 3+ years of experience supporting senior leaders in a cross-functional environment

  • 3+ years of experience in leading or managing a cross-functional project

  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 5: 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization

  • Experience supporting senior executives in complex, matrixed organizations

  • Experience synthesizing senior leader conversations into clear actions and summaries

  • experience supporting leaders in an Engineering organization

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders

  • Understanding of human factors engineering principles and their application in the Boeing product lifecycle and/or enterprise safety initiatives

  • Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range for Experienced level (Level 3): $101,150-$136,850

Summary Pay Range for Senior level (Level 4): $126,650-$171,350

Summary Pay Range for Lead level (Level 5): $156,400-$211,600
