Job Summary: About the Position: This Chief of Staff position is with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), Europe East Region Office, located in Sembach, Germany. Federal employees in Sembach, Germany are currently entitled to receive a 42% Post Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary.

Major Duties:

  • Advise concerning policies and procedures that affect district operations
  • Represent the District Superintendent in meetings, briefings, and conferences with senior officials and other organizations
  • Direct administrative support operations to include district travel, managing directorate/staff coordination, and administration
  • Plan and monitor work to be accomplished by subordinates; establish schedules, priorities, and deadlines for work accomplishment
  • Develop, coordinate, and integrate programs, goals, and other activities
  • Establish/maintain effective communication with the community to advise on mid to long range plans, to emphasize recent or forthcoming changes in plans and regulations and to receive feedback
  • Develop policy positions and/or directive actions for issuance to district staff
  • Provide information to individuals and stakeholders who inquire about or express interest in DoDEA issues

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Degree: A Bachelor's (or higher) degree from an accredited college, university, or institution recognized by the US Dept of Education. Experience: At least three years of experience as a Supervisor and/or Administrator in a K-12 school system.
