Thymecare

Chief of Staff, Care Delivery

New York, NY (Hybrid) Full Time

OUR MISSION

We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.

Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person’s cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.

As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.

Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you’re inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what’s possible, we’d love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Chief of Staff, Care Delivery is a high-impact, highly visible role serving as a force multiplier to the lead of our Care Delivery organization. This leader oversees an organization of approximately 500 clinical and operational staff — spanning nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, community health workers, social workers, and operators — working within a value-based oncology care model.

The Chief of Staff, Care Delivery will drive clarity, alignment, and execution across one of the most complex and consequential parts of the organization. This is not a coordination-only role. The right candidate will operate with autonomy, exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership on both long-term priorities and day-to-day operational performance.

This role is ideal for a sharp, mission-driven operator who wants enterprise-level exposure, thrives in fast-moving environments, and aspires to a broader leadership role in healthcare.

This role reports to our SVP of Clinical Innovation & Delivery Design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Execution & Priority Management
    1. Serve as an extension of the Care Delivery lead — translating leadership priorities into structured workplans, clear owners, and measurable outcomes
    2. Track and drive progress on the highest-priority initiatives across clinical operations
    3. Identify where cross-functional efforts are stalling, misaligned, or under-resourced — and intervene to get them back on track
    4. Contribute to the preparation for high-stakes external engagements including board meetings & partner business reviews
  2. Cross-Functional Coordination
    1. Serve as the primary connective tissue between the Care Delivery organization and its partners across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and Business Development
    2. Ensure cross-functional dependencies are surfaced early, decisions are documented, and workstreams are advancing with appropriate urgency
    3. Lead or co-lead working groups on behalf of the care delivery lead where delegation is appropriate
    4. Own the operating rhythm of the Care Delivery organization — including leadership team meetings, planning cycles, and executive communications
  3. Operational Performance & Insight
    1. Monitor organizational performance against clinical, operational, and financial KPIs — synthesizing signals from across the care model into clear, actionable leadership views
    2. Identify emerging risks to quality, capacity, or financial performance and develop structured recommendations for leadership response
    3. Support capacity planning and workforce strategy by modeling tradeoffs and synthesizing inputs across clinical and operational functions
  4. Communications & Organizational Effectiveness
    1. Draft high-quality written communications on behalf of the Care Delivery lead — including leadership memos, strategic updates, board materials, and stakeholder briefings
    2. Ensure the Care Delivery lead is well-prepared, well-informed, and able to focus time on the highest-leverage decisions and relationships
    3. Help maintain a high-performance culture within the Care Delivery organization by supporting clarity of direction, accountability, and follow-through

To hit the ground running, we expect you to have a proven track record and experience in healthcare working on high-performing teams. Ideally, you will have experience working in a setting that leverages data and technology to support patient care. We also expect you to see problems as opportunities and be the first to step up, fix, and overcome them.
