ChristianaCare is looking for an exceptional Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead the team at our Wilmington Hospital and Campus. As the Campus’ Chief Medical Officer, you will hold a key leadership position dedicated to upholding clinical excellence, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining the highest standards of practice. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high quality, equitable and safe patient outcomes, and experience across the entire continuum of care. You will foster a culture of safety, transparency and respect among all caregivers, patients, and families we serve. As a visible representative, you will manage relationships between medical staff, operational leadership, and the community, advocating for optimal patient care and community health.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to enhance clinical effectiveness, patient safety, and performance improvement, aiming to improve outcomes, satisfaction, and efficiency.
Assess and foster physician engagement on the campus, providing input to physician leadership on campus-related concerns.
Collaborate with the campus leadership team to set and review short and long-term goals and metrics.
Build effective relationships with providers, staff, and leadership across the system through clear communication and active listening.
Develop strategic plans to integrate clinical contributions into campus and organizational goals.
Work with Campus President and Medical Group physician leadership to enhance existing services and develop new clinical programs.
Understand social determinants of health and health care disparities, promoting health equity in the community served.
Oversee and manage clinical programs and regulatory interactions with relevant agencies.
Participate in state/local jurisdiction associations, commissions, and initiatives related to continuous improvement.
Act as an advisor and counsel to the Medical Staff, monitoring competency and supporting professional growth.
Position Qualifications:
Medical degree and board certification in designated field required.
Advanced management degree preferred.
Demonstrated significant and successful medical and administrative experience.
Record of achievement in clinical and cost management.

Annual Compensation Range $102,502.40 - $10,249,990.40The above compensation range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting for full-time hours in the respective specialty. The actual compensation within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation the fair market value for physician services in the relevant specialty and the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, credentials, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. The compensation range listed may encompass various forms of applicable compensation for this position, including, but not limited to, productivity incentives, value-based incentives and other ancillary forms of compensation dependent upon operational factors such as hours worked, call coverage and other factors.
