Role Overview
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Financial Officer is a member of MSF-USA’s management team, participating in organizational decision-making and priority setting as well as being the key person engaging the Board of Directors on budget approvals, cost and revenue projections, financial governance, and other areas as required. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for MSF USA's representation on movement-wide platforms and for resource-sharing negotiations.

Budgeting and Reporting
Set, analyze, and monitor budgets in line with the organization's strategy; identify financial trends.
Treasury
Design, develop, and deliver treasury strategies and operations.
Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols
Develop financial guidelines and protocols in response to statutory and financial requirements.
Operational Compliance
Adhere to internal policies and procedures and external standards, including regulatory codes and voluntary codes of conduct, to minimize business risk and protect the organization's reputation.
Organizational Risk Management
Develop and/or deliver on activities to keep track of the organization's risk profile and limit the organization's exposure to undue risks.
Roles Specific Outcomes
Board Relationship
Develop and strengthen relationships with Board members, identify priorities, issues, and strategic challenges, and prepare them for discussion. Work is focused on a strategic function that has scale and global reach.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Develop and manage strong budgeting and forecasting processes for MSF-USA; maintain strong cross-functional communication to stay abreast of organizational activities, collect, review, and deliver accurate annual budget reports, and perform financial analyses to assess the impact of actions/decisions on the organization’s ability to support ongoing operations.
Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols
Lead and coordinate the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols across MSF-USA to ensure the organization complies with regulations and good financial practice.
Financial Reporting
Lead the production and integration of enterprise-wide statutory and non-statutory (including MSF international reporting requirements), financial information, reports, and other disclosures.
Organizational Risk Management
Develop and/or deliver a contingency plan for significant aspects of the risk management and/or control process.
Audit & Compliance
Take overall responsibility for designing, developing and delivering the organization's compliance and audit strategies.
International Representation
Take responsibility for representing MSF USA in international Finance forums and platforms. Leads Resource Sharing Agreement negotiations.

Travel Requirements
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally to attend board meetings, and participate in strategic retreats.
Location- NYC (Hybrid- in office Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
This role is based in our New York, where most of the team and operational infrastructure are located. Due to current staffing and budget constraints, we’re unable to support this position in our DC or California office.
Compensation
Salary range: $197,984 to $347,856
In alignment with MSF USA’s compensation framework, new hires are generally offered a salary between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
