HR AdministrationThe Chief Financial Officer will be a highly credible, mission‑driven financial leader with the judgment, presence, and strategic orientation required to steward a complex, integrated safety‑net health system. This leader will bring the ability to balance rigor and discipline with pragmatism and creativity, operating effectively in an environment shaped by public accountability, constrained resources, and multiple stakeholder interests. The CFO will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, addressing competing priorities, and translating financial insight into clear, actionable guidance that informs decision‑making at the executive and board levels. Equally important, the ideal candidate will be a collaborative partner to clinical, administrative, and operational leaders across Denver Health—someone who builds trust, communicates with clarity, and anchors financial leadership in service of the organization’s mission, community impact, and long‑term sustainability.
Job Summary
The CFO oversees strategic financial goals for the organization and develops and executes on related plans. Responsible for the fiscal functions for all components of Denver Health including the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of organizational policy. Areas reporting include Accounting, Budget, Capital Development, the Denver Health Medical Plan (DHMP), Payroll, Revenue Cycle, Reimbursement, and Banking/Treasury Management. Collaborates with the CEO and Executive Staff in determining the strategic direction of the organization within the parameters and mission of Denver Health and carries responsibility for executing a financial plan in support of the strategic plan. The CFO manages, directs, plans and coordinates the functions and activities of assigned areas; serves as a member of the Executive Staff team and collaborates with Administrative, Medical and Operational Leadership.
