SUPERVISES: Finance, Accounting, Risk, Financial Analysis, IT and Contracts

AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for directing financial and risk management activities of the organization.

  • Oversees all financial functions including accounting, controllership, treasury, financial budgeting, internal and external financial reporting, capital allocation, financial analysis, credit, insurance and tax.

  • Forecasts and offers strategic direction to the organization based not only on internal data but also on the external environment — regulatory, market and macroeconomic — and be able to advise on industry-specific challenges and opportunities.

  • Develops business strategy and strategic partnerships in support of the business with both internal and external customers.

  • Directs the fiscal functions of the Company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the International Accounting Standards Board, Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.

  • Designs and coordinates a wide variety of financial data and reports that directly supports the management of all aspects of the business.

  • Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to assist the senior executives in performing their responsibilities.

  • Establishes and monitors internal controls. Ensures compliance with applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations and all other applicable laws and regulations.

  • Develops, critically reviews, and documents policies and procedures related to area of responsibility and ensures implementation of these policies and procedures, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations

  • Responsible for coordinating or overseeing all external contacts with banks, external auditors, government auditors and tax authorities.

  • Directs and oversees all IT functions.

  • Directs and oversees all Contracts and Pricing functions.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  • At least fifteen (15) years of in-depth finance management / leadership experience in a similarly sized or larger organization.

  • Requires at least a bachelor’s in finance or accounting, possession of a   Masters in Business Administration strongly preferred.

  • CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Manufacturing / construction industry experience preferred.

  • Strong Government contracting experience required (CAS, FAR, DFAR).

  • A strong sense of self-confidence resulting from a strong track record of accomplishment and desire to excel.

  • Decisive and action oriented.  Capable of making a decision and executing it.

  • High degree of personal accountability.

  • Strong people skills – committed to developing and motivating people to their full potential.

  • Can be trusted and possesses high integrity, while also able to provide the necessary leadership for efficient teamwork.

  • Must have superior communication, presentation and leadership skills.

  • IT and Contracts leadership preferred.

TOOLS: ERP, HR/Payroll Systems, and proficient with Microsoft office applications.

DIRECTION EXERCISED: Provides direction to subordinates while also providing to all employees direction regarding adherence to state and federal regulations. Has full discretionary authority to assign work.

DISCRETION EXERCISED: Exercises a wide degree of latitude and creativity. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Full discretionary authority to correct and discipline, execute pay increases, transfer, promotions, discharges, and process grievances.

LIAISES WITH: Management, Board of Directors, Government Representatives, Customers, Internal and External Auditors, and Financial Markets
