Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

This role is responsible for developing and managing data, analytics and AI strategies aligned with the enterprise’s mission and goals. This role acts as the internal product owner for data, analytics and AI innovations, working with key leaders to deploy solutions that enhance patient care, improve efficiency, and drive innovation while ensuring data governance, regulatory and ethical compliance. The executive will oversee all aspects of change, including people, processes, and technology.   

Essential Job Functions

Data and AI Strategy

  • Partnerships with Executive Leadership: Build partnerships with executive leadership to establish the vision for managing data as a business asset, exploiting data, analytics, and AI capabilities to maximize the value derived from data assets.
  • Data and Analytics Vision: Define data and analytics vision, strategy, and associated practices. Lead the creation (and assure the ongoing relevance) of the organization’s data and analytics strategy in collaboration with key leaders across the organization.
  • Data-Driven Innovation: Lead data-driven innovation for the enterprise, including investigation, adoption, and exploitation of artificial intelligence.
  • AI Strategy and Execution: Develop and oversee a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals. Support AI strategy execution by identifying and deploying AI innovations across the industry.
  • Emerging Data Strategies: Identify and evaluate emerging data strategies and technologies, and the ability to apply them in key clinical, operations, and research goals.
  • AI Development and Deployment: Lead the development and deployment of AI solutions, such as predictive analytics, diagnostic tools, and process automation. Evaluate AI technologies and partnerships, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and scalability.

Operational Excellence

  • Operating Model for Data, Analytics, and AI: Institute system-wide operating model for data, analytics, and AI that is consistent with the capabilities and competencies required to execute the strategy.
  • Centralized Data Management : Create and oversee a centralized data management service for sourcing and use of data to ensure quality, traceability, timeliness, usability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Data and Analytics Platform: Partner with service provider on the development, deployment and integration of data and analytics platform across the organization.
  • Research and Analytics Offerings: Expand the organization’s research and analytics offerings, especially in emerging analytical approaches, skills, and technologies, focusing on accelerating innovation and transformation across the organization in partnership with service partner.

Governance and Compliance

  • Trust in Data Assets: Establish and maintain trust in data assets by instituting governance mechanisms for data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications, and automated decision making.
  • AI Governance Framework: Set up and manage AI governance framework and processes. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and alignment with Ethical and Religious Directives (ERDs) in AI implementations.
  • Risk Levels and Security: Collaborate with VP Info Security to advise organizational leadership on risk levels, security, and necessary changes to existing policies. Monitor and mitigate risks associated with AI, including bias, data privacy, and security.
  • Performance Tracking: Track the performance and impact of AI solutions, providing regular reports to stakeholders.

Culture and Talent Development

  • Foster Data Literacy: Foster the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies, and data literacy across the enterprise.
  • Influencing Skills: Exercise influencing skills across the organization to support and encourage widespread adoption and usage of a broad spectrum of data assets and tools.
  • AI Talent Orchestration: Orchestrate the right AI talent from various groups within the organization. Collaborate with clinicians, IT teams, analytics, and leadership to integrate AI into care delivery and operations.
  • Communication and Mentorship: Communicate the value and potential of AI to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Build and manage a multidisciplinary team focused on AI in healthcare. Provide mentorship and training to staff on AI tools and best practices.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, IT, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, IT, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or related field (required)

Work Experience

  • 10+ years experience in healthcare (required)
  • 5+ years in evolving leadership roles involving AI or technology (required)
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, predictive analytics and ethical AI use (required)
