Salary Range: $62640 - $81436 Per Year

Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will provide technical guidance to subordinates by assigning work based on consideration of priorities, difficulty, requirements, and capabilities of the individuals.
  • You will monitor the workload, set priorities adhere to deadlines, and review completed work for adequacy.
  • You will generate and submit reports to activities within the shipyard.
  • You will actively support the laboratory's quality assurance process and be responsible for quality control testing testing for the purity of gases for aircraft operations and the usage of gases.

Qualifications: GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience displaying practical knowledge of chemistry, analytical techniques, and methodologies to interpret specification requirements, review work results of peers for technical accuracy, adequacy, validity. Experience interpreting test data, preparing reports describing the test methods, and presenting results. Experience utilizing a high level of oral and written skills establishing and maintaining effective intra- and interpersonal relationships throughout the organization. Experience displaying the ability to apply complex rules in ways to improve quality and satisfy program requirements while minimizing or reducing cost and/or rework. GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience demonstrating knowledge of chemical or material principal theories and practices in the use of instrumental analysis and apparatus, proficient to perform analyses and the ability to develop new methods and procedures. Experience understanding the application and usage of FT-IR spectroscopy and the ability to assist program Senior analysts. Experience utilizing skills of evaluating quality control testing criteria, exercises the ability to adapt to the use of instrumentation used to obtain valid results and resolve very complex sensitive problems related to quality assurance. Experience utilizing technical expertise to perform analysis, generate test results, trouble shoot, perform maintenance, and recognize gaps in existing test.
