Job Summary

The Chemical Technician supports daily manufacturing operations by stocking incoming chemical inventory, ensuring operations has adequate supply, proper handling and logging of hazardous waste, and oversight of waste handling equipment. This role works closely with operations, engineering, and equipment teams to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant chemical manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities


• Knowledge of chemical handling and safety practices
• Safely remove and accurately log and label hazardous and non-hazardous chemical wastes
• Handle and arrange for disposal of chemical waste in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
• Follow all safety procedures, SDS requirements, and environmental regulations
• Work with Health, Safety, and Environment department to ensure facility wide chemical safety
• Work with engineers and technicians to ensure process chemicals are adequately stocked
• Work with engineers and technicians to ensure process chemicals tanks pass quality checks
• Operate and monitor facility equipment such as reactors, tanks, mixers, pumps, and filtration systems
• Troubleshooting of chemical and waste equipment
• Perform equipment cleaning, changeovers, and preventive maintenance
• Store, handle, and work with Supply Chain to manage inventory of chemical materials
• Support continuous improvement, yield optimization, and housekeeping (5S) initiatives
• Assist with general facility maintenance as required
• Help support all regulatory permits, hazardous waste manifests, stormwater prevention and other environmental related programs
• Work with HSE to recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees’ exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or manufacturing operations
• Plus 2–5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or industrial production environment
• Working knowledge of chemical handling and process safety
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
• Basic computer skills (data entry, spreadsheets, manufacturing systems)
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in developing and reading regulatory hazardous waste profiles
• Forklift experience
• Understanding of OSHA, EPA, RCRA, and hazardous waste rules and requirements
Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks during shifts
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with or without assistance
• Comfortable working around chemicals and wearing required PPE (gloves, goggles, respirator, protective clothing)
• Manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise, heat, or odors

Salary & Benefits

Cubic pay range: 20.75 – 34.59 – 44.97 USD hourly plus benefits
